Cos it's programmed in our DNA to think lighter skin is better, it all probably started after our encounter with Caucasians. Black is beautiful... |
MrColdsweat:Lol im not catholic sir. You don't have to be part of something to respect it. |
This is why other religions highly respect catholicism more than any other Christian branch. Cos they are more mature, visually more disciplined, well structured and more organized. Im not in support of everyone having the religious and constitutional right to wake up invent their own church! While it was supposed to be an amazing thing and good for Christianity... Instead it's contributing to the demise of our religion. So I personally think their should be limits and boundaries... Sometimes too much freedom can be a bad thing... Cos with every new church comes a new doctrine, sometimes a very weird and wrong doctrine totally different from the basic Christian doctrine! It's very sad! And it's worst in Africa. You go dey hear things like "pastors bathing church members half naked at the alter" or "prophet seen literally walking on the back of his/her congregation!" it's all really disgusting and wrong! And yet such organizations would still be categorized as a "church"? and under Christianity!!! These things are seriously affecting our beloved Christianity honestly.. This is why we are losing value and respect as a religion on daily basis. There are only handful of churches left around the world these days that still practice pure, true and authentic Christianity. And cheers to those churches and their overseers. Cos it's not easy. |
Men these days don dey do amebo pass women sef ![]() |
MaxInDHouse:interesting... This is deep and made complete sense to me. So do you consider yourself one of those 9million people? |
MaxInDHouse:Keep going sir... I'm interested. |
Want to know some facts about Christianity? It’s one of the main religions of the world and throughout centuries it has shaped the world into what it is today. No matter if you’re a Christian yourself it’s important to learn about other cultures and religions in order to understand each other better and share this world peacefully. There are many interesting Christianity facts and some shocking truths about Christianity as well that you perhaps didn’t know about before reading this. * CHRISTIANITY IS THE WORD'S LARGEST RELIGION. There are more than 2.4 billion Christians worldwide, which makes Christianity the largest religion in the world. However, in the near future, it is very likely that Islam will surpass and become the most followed religion since it’s the fastest-growing religion at the moment. * UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS THE COUNTRY WITH MOST CHRISTIANS. With nearly 225 million Christians or about 70% of the population, the United States remains the nation with the most Christians. They are followed by Brazil and Mexico in South America, Nigeria, Russia, Philippines, Congo, Ethiopia, Italy and Germany. * THERE ARE THREE MAIN BRANCHES OF CHRISTIANITY. Christianity actually has lots of denominations but is often divided into three main branches, which are Catholicism, Orthodox, and Protestantism. Sometimes the religion is divided even further into 5 main branches which are the Church of the East, Oriental Orthodoxy, Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and Protestantism. And within these branches, there are even more denominations. About 50% of all Christians are Catholics and hold the Pope as their highest spiritual leader. * THERE IS NO ORIGINAL BIBLE DATING BACK TO JESUS. Many people imagine the origin of the Bible as a single book, but it’s, in fact, an anthology of 66 books with various authors. The first printed bible dates back to 1455, and it’s known as the Gutenberg Bible, which is also the first book ever printed. It has been written and rewritten many times and even translated into more than 3000 languages during a period of approximately 1400 years. Furthermore, the oldest version existing of the Old testament dates back to the 2nd century BC. As for the New Testament, there are also no original manuscripts of the scripture, but thanks to fragments and early copies, scholars are fairly certain that the Bible of today is more or less the same as it was originally written. * APPROXIMATELY 100 MILLION BIBLES ARE SOLD EVERY YEAR. Since the first printed Bible, the Holy book of Christianity has spread worldwide, and it consistently ranks as the most popular book in many countries around the world. An estimated 100 million Bibles are sold each year. * CHRISTIANITY IS ONE OF THE THREE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS. Another interesting fact about Christianity is that it has the same god as Judaism and Islam. They all stem from the same origins of Abraham, and it’s known as one of the Abrahamic religions. Despite many differences between the three religions, there are also many similarities, and many of the characters mentioned in each holy book are the same person. For example, Jesus is mentioned many times in the Quran and is seen as one of the prophets. * JERUSALEM IS THE HOLIEST CITY WITHIN CHRISTIAN FAITH. Jerusalem is perhaps the holiest city in the world since it’s an important site for Jews, Christians as well as Muslims. In Christianity, there are many important places around Jerusalem, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is located here. Every year, many Christians travel to Jerusalem on a pilgrimage route to visit the ancient places of Jesus and other important Biblical figures. * THERE ARE MORE THAN 316,000 MISSIONARIES WORLDWIDE. If you wonder how Christianity has spread to all continents around the world, the answer is a mix of missionaries and colonialism. Today, there are more than 316 000 missionaries traveling the world to spread the words of the Bible. One notable missionary who gained media attention worldwide recently tried to reach the Sentinelese to convert the native tribes to Christianity. * THERE ARE SEVERAL EXTRA-BIBLICAL PROOFS OF JESUS'S EXISTENCE. For a long time, most theological scholars, drawing their conclusions from the Bible, agreed that a certain man named Jesus Christ of Nazareth existed in biblical times. In recent years, there have been several physical evidences beyond the Bible that indicates that Jesus walked this earth. Well-known evidences are: the discovery of the nails of the cross of Jesus, the Shroud of Turin, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Tomb of Jesus. Some other non-Biblical evidences come from prominent figures in those days who wrote directly about Jesus as a real person: The Roman historian Tacitus and the Jewish priest Josephus. * THE CRUSADES Christians perpetrated mind-boggling atrocities by waging war and slaughtering thousands in the name of Christ for nearly 200 years, from 1095 to 1291 During the period of the infamous so-called Crusades, Western European Christians waged great war against Muslims to prevent further spread of Islam and retake the Holy Land. They also persecuted and killed many to recover former Christian territories from the “pagans”. These crusades were sanctioned and funded by the Catholic Church – the initial trigger originated with Pope Urban II – and Royal Families of EUROPE. An estimated 1 to 3 million people lost their lives during these Crusades. * CHRISTIANS ARE THE MOST PERSECUTED RELIGIOUS GROUP IN THE WORLD. One Christian is being killed for his faith every 6 minutes. Thousands of Christians are being murdered around the world, according to a report by the Center for Studies on New Religions. A development that makes Christians the most persecuted religious group in the world. A second report from the University of Notre Dame indicates that the offenders include Muslims, communists, religious nationalists, secular regimes and violent religious extremists. Evangelical and Protestant Christians are among the most persecuted The 5 countries with the most violent and extreme persecution of Christians are: North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and Pakistan.
