WARRI doesn’t mean last,does it?
I entered that keke na pep that evening, intending to mind my business as i normally do(so long as my fellow occupants don’t contrive to push my skinny self out first And so we were on our way.It was a beautiful evening and i couldn’t wait to get home. All was well. Till one bro’s phone rang and he decided to involve all of us in the phone call. First he spent 5 minutes screaming at the caller(and into our ears). Then,after hanging up,he chose to finish what he had started. In my mind,i was like “ why do we do this to strangers”.
Like so(as we say in warri),”the bro” started to narrate how he hired ‘tipper’(a truck) to carry sand to his building construction site. And some area boys are refusing to let the truckers unload the sand till they are “settled”! This guy was vibrating. He was at the point where frustration was making him nearly speechless. He said, “the land na my own, materials na me get am,nko sand wen dey the tipper i don pay for am! Tell me, wetin dey say make i come settle dem for again na?
Then the four of us inside the keke-na-pep started on the topic. The woman seated next to the bros, a fair madame in her late 40’s said since she arrived in this town, she has noticed that that is the general behaviour.She said and i quote, “when i told my brother that the agent helping me look for a two-bedroom flat, asked me to pay him #35,000,he said what kind of nonsense is that? He dint believe me. I told him that to get a house in warri,you need the following: agent fee minimum #20,000,agents drink, the agreed rent, landlord’s drink, caution fee minimum #20,000.
At that point i interrupted her. I told them about my own case, where my landlady asked for legal fees of #10,000 to be paid to her private law firm(she’s a lawyer),so that they can prepare the agreement papers. Everybody laughed. Because we all knew what that was: daylight robbery! But thats all we could do,complain. And laugh.
A friend of mine told me that her agent told her to pay #20,000(with drink!) after he helped her find a room, one room! And i asked her,if you had 20k extra, wouldn’t you add it to the rent and get a better place than a single room? Why isn’t he thinking that? Why aren’t they all thinking like human beings?

You are absolutely right. I find that am always disappointed whenever i watch a novel converted to a movie. They find it impossible to potray everything.All the Harry Potter movies are a case in point.

They are just too Boring and Predictable. I would rather grab a book or Game. I once watched Harry Potter:Goblet of Fire. 60% of details was missing and i read all 7 books. There are better things than Movies. Milady

Hello. Please can anyone tell me if they were ever asked to pay when recieving parcels from friends abroad via British Cargo? I was just told to pay 7,500 into the discharge person's account. Is this right?
