NOW TO THE STORY



I know some of u might be wondering already who is KUREGE and what he did to us. Well, for your information, KUREGE is in my own opinion the most popular soldier man in the blackgold camp even more popular than the state coordinator because of one reason u will soon find out.

At around 5am of the day camp should open formally, I already had my bath, then lying on ma bed fantasizing about the whole camp tinz especially how I go enjoy my life for maami market. Suddenly, I heard pple blowing whistle and shouting in a kinda military language which I really Dont understand. Like others in the hall, I ignored the whole idea while majority are even still sleeping. Before we discover it wasn't a mad man in the room chasing everybody without allowing then a time to carry all their baggages and buckets which is to be carried, all of is don reach camp gate. No thanks to KUREGE for this as lots of people got wounded including myself. in short, we were sent out of the gate to be admitted formally. We all formed lines in 3s separately from the gals. We were asked to put our baggages on our heads while we simg as instructed by KUREGE. In fact that morning drilling alone woke me to reality and fawe away my fantasy. Again, it became very clear to me that camp activities no be moi-moi. All officials came to tell us thingz we re expected of in the camp with the camp director emphasizing the fact that all through the 3weeks, OUR ENTIRE LIFE WILL BE REGULATED AND WE HAVE NO DECISION FOR OURSELVES". in fact, KUREGE made it clear to is that if we are asked "how are u this morning' the one and only response should be "NO OPTION SIR"

At this point I was almost dying inside but believe that it will get better.we went inside and registration started proper and that same day, parade started proper. Except for that morning, I never had my bath in d morning again and I never went to toilet in duringvthe day again. Don't ask me why cuz u will soon find out.


At this juncture, I should leave u to go find out what happens in camp latter after then.....however, I need to admonish you in the issue of redeployment. I consider this very important and will do that latter in the evening if I have the strength.

When I was posted to kaduna last year C14, it felt like the world has come to it's end. just like many other people, the one and major thing we were reasoning was redeployment because kaduna was the last place I ever wanted. No matter how much we hated it , we must travel to kaduna at least for the 3weeks orientation program. The first challenges I was faced with was how to travel from Lagos to kaduna since I never traveled out of southwest in ma life. I never traveled more than 5hrs and in this case, I have to travel on road for 13hrs. Because I knew the journey might be boring, I tried to register with a transport company that will be taking prospective corp members to various state so at least I can rest assured that I wount b d only one. I went with cross-country at yaba. Unfortunately for me, I was the only PCM going to kaduna. Be that as it may, I got to the camp at around 9pm even though we left at exactly 7:05 in the morning. The journey was though interesting since I was able to arrange sytematic aroism in the bus, but my thoughts all through was filled with wat am going to face in the strange state I was going for the first time. on getting to the black gold orientation camp kaduna, I met with some small military boys at the gate and I felt as a graduate I can just do them shakara until I was getting drilled even for checking my bags alone. At that point, it became very clear to me that am in for a very serious business.....to cut the story short, we were allowed to sleep in camp overnight till the camp opens formally the second day.....I thought because we were allowed to sleep overnight, we don get mouth be that and we should subsequently be treated with ease.the second morning at around 6am, u wount believe what KUREGE did to everyone in the hall both male and female......(to be continue)
