It's easy for a girl her age to have a broader and more mature perspective of the world than Cross, you know Gen Z and all, but as regards matters of the heart and dealing with the opposite sex, I do not think she is as oiled in the game as Cross, and they will have different ideals, different things they could consider 'boundaries', and like you said, she seems smitten by him when he's with her, it almost seems like a schoolgirl crush.
