As a guy I've seen many situations of a girl having a man but giving a guy all the necessary green light required, hoping the guy would give her enough convictions to leave her man and choose him.

I think she is bold though. She doesn't just want the attention from Eric, neither does she just want to go with the flow. She wants them to be exclusive and she is not 'ashamed' to suggest it

Eric recounting how he got into the LICA entanglement.

He is expressing himself and letting Lilo know that while coming into the house, he had an open mind regarding getting involved. He spoke with a couple of people, evaluated age and vibe, and 'chose' lilo. However, he isn't comfortable knowing that Lilo has a man.
