It got even better for team Nigeria on Day 4 of Athletics, as the country matched its performance of Day 3, with an additional three GOLDs to increase its medal tally at the ongoing 2015 All African Games in Congo Brazzaville.

Heptathlon, Long Jump and Discus were the events where the GOLDs came from, taking Nigeria’s haul to seven, to top the sport and inspire hope of what the nation can do on this stage.

If on Day 2 Nigeria had a good show winning five medals, Day 3 was even better as the country won three GOLDs in Athletics at the ongoing 2015 All African Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

Is she in Brazzaville, will she run? many questions asked about the availability of Blessing Okagbare for the Championships following initial reports that she withdrew and was subsequently banned. However, all that was put to bed as the African Record holder ran the second leg to help Nigeria win the women’s 4x100m relay GOLD in a time of 43.10s.

Team Nigeria continued with their impressive outing in Athletics at the ongoing All African Games, winning five medals: one GOLD, three Silvers and a Bronze on Day 2 of the Championships.

With initial doubt about his participation, National Triple Jump champion Tosin Oke put all that behind him as he leapt to victory in Brazzaville recording a mark of 17.00m. It was a one-two finish for Nigeria as Olamide Olamigoke joined Oke on the podium, finishing 2nd with a leap of 16.98m, a feat he achieved with his third attempt.
