Congrats to Otobong Ndem.

Please is NDDC meant for building out-of-quality roads and renovating already built schools.
With the funds at their disposal can't they do a meaningful project?

Nairaland GeneralPolitician Seeks To Divorce Wife For Being A Talkative by MoDaniel(op): 10:35pm On Jul 05, 2019
Over fear of his life, Aderemi Fatukasi, a 64-year-old estate agent and politician, has asked an Agege Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his loveless marriage with his wife, Esther, alleging her talkative nature.

In a report made known by NAN, the petitioner, Fatukasi, a father of one is seeking the dissolution of the nine-year-old marriage, on grounds of alleged talkative and troublesome nature of his wife, adultery and other irreconcilable differences.

Aderemi told the court that he finally moved out of his house due to all the embarrassment his wife was causing him.
The petitioner, who described his wife as being temperamental and violent, told the court that on a few occasions, he had lived out of their matrimonial home due to her incessant talks and gossips.

The petitioner claimed the wife talks a lot to the extent it affects his calibre in their neighbourhood.

“l had suffered so much embarrassment due to constant gossips.
“Whenever we have a private discussion as a couple, before l know it, l will hear what we talked about outside.
“She goes to her stepchildren’s school to gossip and embarrass me and my family.
“Our church is also not left out and this has brought so much shame and embarrassment to me as an elder in the church,’’ he said.

The petitioner said he could not bear all the embarrassment his wife had caused him and urged the court to dissolve their union.

“It is unbearable that I cannot ever withstand her presence around me.
“There was a time she came to our church to fight me and tore my clothes to shreds.
“I also heard she was having illicit sexual relationship with a teacher in my children’s school.
“It is unbearable that l cannot ever withstand her presence around me,’’ he said.

The petitioner, who insisted on the dissolution of the marriage, told the court that he needed to be alive in order to take good care of himself and his other children.
“I am no longer interested in the union; my wife talks too much, she cannot keep secrets and she is a troublemaker,’’ Aderemi said.

The respondent, however, denied ever having any sexual relationship with any other man since she met her husband.
“I still love my husband and do not want to divorce him,” she said.

Esther, 50, a fashion designer, therefore, pleaded with the court not to dissolve the marriage.
The respondent told the court that her husband did not care and did not give her necessary attention as his wife.
“Whenever l talks to him or try to advise him on a certain matter, he does not listen to me.
“I promise to change my ways and be of good conduct,’’ the respondent said.

She said that she did not want her marriage dissolved and urged the court to help them in settling the misunderstandings between herself and her husband.

The Court President, Mrs Patricia Adeyanju, told the couple to remain at peace.
She adjourned the suit until July 23 for the adoption of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

SportsI Am Not Quitting International Football Anytime Soon – Lionel Messi by MoDaniel(op): 11:39am On Jul 03, 2019
After Argentina ended in failure at the Copa America on Tuesday, failing to win against Brazil, Lionel Messi has promised not to leave international football soon.

The 32-year-old Barcelona star, who infamously quit international football after Argentina’s defeat in the 2016 Copa America Centenario final, said he had no plans to hang up his boots after a 2-0 semi-final loss to Brazil.

“If I can still help in any way, I will continue to do so. I feel really good in this group,” said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“This is a good, talented generation who showed that they love the national team,” he added.
“They have a future and great foundations, they just need to be given time.”

Messi will get another chance to break his tournament duck next year when the Copa America takes place in Argentina and Colombia, with the 2022 World Cup looming further on the horizon.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni meanwhile insisted his new-look squad had a bright future despite the defeat.
“Without a doubt, today we showed that this group of players feel the jersey like no-one else,” he said.
“We showed an image for the future of this squad and these players and the great path they are on.
“To play in this stadium, in these conditions and to be superior to our opponents.
“It doesn’t matter because they’re going to the final but if we’re aware of what we did today then there’s only positives.”

He said the defeat was “unfair” claiming that “no other team has created as many goalscoring chances against Brazil as we did.”

Messi’s best chance came on 57 minutes when he volleyed against the post. Scaloni said the veteran was Argentina’s “standard-bearer.”

“Brazil were continuously trying to stop passes from reaching him and we kept looking for ways to get him the ball,” Scaloni said.

“It was thrilling to see him play. It didn’t work out today but he’ll have his rematch and the whole squad will have their rematch.”
Scaloni was unhappy with some of Ecuadoran referee Roddy Zambrano’s decisions, not least the fact that Argentina picked up six bookings to Brazil’s two.

“I didn’t like the referee, I don’t usually make those comments,”
He said.
“I don’t think he was qualified for a match of this level.”

He added:
“If a midfielder player is on a yellow card this changes things. There were a lot of small details where the match started to lose its balance because of those decisions.”
