Foreign Affairs80 Years Old Man Shoots And Kills Pregnant Burglar by ModoetForma(op): 5:31pm On Jul 25, 2014
Police said Thursday they're deciding whether to arrest an 80-year-old man who shot a fleeing, unarmed burglar despite her telling him she was pregnant, but they have arrested the woman's accomplice on suspicion of murder for taking part in a crime that led to her death.
The homeowner, Tom Greer, was cooperating with investigators, Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell said at a news conference. But the chief wouldn't say whether charges will be recommended when they turn over their case to prosecutors Friday.
He said Andrea Miller, 28, was not visibly pregnant but an autopsy would provide the answer.
Greer told KNBC-TV he shot Miller twice in the back as she ran away.
"She says, 'Don't shoot me, I'm pregnant — I'm going to have a baby,' and I shot her anyway," Greer said in the interview Wednesday.
The surviving suspect, Gus Adams, 26, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of residential burglary and murder, McDonnell said. The murder charge is possible because he is accused of being involved in a felony that led to a death, the chief said. Police did not know if he has hired an attorney.
Both Miller and Adams were unarmed, McDonnell said.
Both had histories of similar crimes, and Greer, who had been burglarized three times before, believes the same suspects were responsible.
PoliticsMohammadu Buhari Bomb Attack: Suspect Disguised As Woman. by ModoetForma(op): 5:22pm On Jul 25, 2014
The Nigerian military on Friday said it arrested a suspected bomber who disguised himself as a woman.
A statement by the Defence Headquarters said the man who was dressed like woman was suspected to be connected with the explosion targeted at the convoy of a former military head of state, Mohammed Buhari, in Kaduna.
The attack occurred near the busy Kawo market in Kaduna, killing 15 people, the police said.
A bomb-laden car rammed into the ex-leader’s convoy after trailing it for a distance, and unsuccessfully trying to overtake the escort vehicle to reach Mr. Buhari’s armoured SUV.
The military said the suspect was arrested by a security team that arrived at the explosion site not long after the blast. He was caught while trying to merge into a crowd of onlookers.
Some youth in the area tried to lynch the suspect while he was being arrested but were restrained by troops who whisked him away in an Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC.
The statement said the suspect was currently being interrogated by security agencies to figure out his links with the attempt on Mr. Buhari’s life. The suspect was caught near the Buhari bomb blast site.
Foreign AffairsDoctor Shoots Patient Who Shot, Killed Woman At Hospital by ModoetForma(op): 5:14pm On Jul 25, 2014
Psychiatrist Lee Silverman may have saved lives Thursday afternoon, when a patient opened fire in a suburban Philadelphia hospital, killing a caseworker.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said the shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. at Mercy Fitzgerald Wellness Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, according to CNN affiliate KYW-TV.
A chaotic scene
According to Whelan, Richard Plotts, 49, walked in the psychiatric unit of the building with his caseworker, Theresa Hunt, 53. The two then went into Dr. Silverman's office, where an argument ensued.
Hunt shut the door and called the police.
Moments later, shots were fired.
According to authorities, another doctor and caseworker charged into the room, where Hunt was fatally wounded. They wrestled Plotts to the floor and held him until police arrived.
Silverman's head was grazed by a bullet, and he was treated and released after being interviewed by investigators.
Plotts remains in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after being shot in the arm and torso by a gun Silverman was carrying.
Authorities said they do not know why the patient opened fire.
HealthPossible Case Of Ebola Virus In Lagos Confirmed. by ModoetForma(op): 9:22pm On Jul 24, 2014
A man in his 40s is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos, a mega-city of 21 million people, the Lagos State Health Ministry said on Thursday.
Ebola has killed 660 people across Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since an outbreak in February, straining their flimsy healthcare systems despite international help.A spokesman for the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva confirmed Nigeria had"one suspect case"and said samples had been sent to a WHO lab for testing.
"The Nigerian Ministry of Health has implemented control measures in the meantime,"he told Reuters.
If confirmed, the case would be the first on record of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria, Africa's biggest economy and, with 170 million people, its most populous country.
Nigeria also has some of the continent's least adequate healthcare infrastructure for a nation of its size, despite access to billions of dollars of oil money as Africa's biggest producer of crude.
The special adviser on public health to the Lagos state government, Yewande Adeshina, told a news conference the man had collapsed on arrival at Lagos airport from Liberia on Sunday. He was rushed to hospital and put in an isolation ward, she said.
"The patient was admitted and detained on suspicion of possible EBV (Ebola virus) infection, while blood sample collection and testing was initiated,"she said in her statement, adding that"results are pending."
Ben Neuman, a virologist and Ebola expert at Britain's University of Reading, said it was important to note that Ebola is one of a number of viruses that can cause hemorrhagic fever, and that others, including Lassa fever virus and Dengue virus, could turn out to be the diagnosis in this case.
"Some of these other, more common hemorrhagic fever viruses have already been the cause of false alarms in the ongoing west African Ebola outbreak,"Neuman told Reuters in London.
"For now, it is important that we wait for the lab results on the patient in Lagos,"he added."Even if Ebola is confirmed, this will be a cause for concern, not panic. Ebola spreads slowly, and can be contained by quarantining suspected cases immediately in hospitals."
The Ebola outbreak started in Guinea's remote southeast and has since spread across the region's poorly controlled borders. Symptoms of the highly infectious disease are diarrhea, vomiting and internal and external bleeding.
Adeshina said Lagos state authorities had requested a flight manifest and would be contacting all the other passengers to warn them of the risk. They would also be tracing any places the passenger had been, and had already distributed protective clothing to health workers, she said.
Foreign AffairsMissing Air Algerie Plane With 116 Peoplr On Board by ModoetForma(op): 6:55pm On Jul 24, 2014
An Air Algerie flight with at least 116 people on board which dropped off the radar in the early hours of Thursday appears to have crashed in a remote area of Mali.
Air Algerie said via Twitter that the plane has apparently crashed in the Tilemsi area, about 70 kilometers (45 miles) from the southeastern city of Gao.
Flight 5017 lost radar contact 50 minutes after takeoff from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, early Thursday. It was supposed to arrive at Algiers' Houari Boumediene Airport about four hours later.
Ouagadougou Airport said in a statement on its website that French forces stationed in the area had detected the wreck of the plane between Gao and the town of Kidal, in a desert zone that is very difficult to access.
The remote location and security concerns mean it is unlikely that any medical help will get there within the day, the statement said.
Islamist militants have been fighting the Malian government and French forces in the region for months.
The town of Kidal was occupied some months ago by rebel fighters but French troops are now based there, backed up by the air force. Mali lies between Burkina Faso and Algeria.
The state-run Algeria Press Service news agency cited Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal as saying search operations for the plane, an MD-83, were still continuing.
The plane had 110 passengers and six crew members, Air Algerie sales manager Zoheir Houaoui told reporters Thursday. Among the passengers, he said, were 50 people from France; 24 from Burkina Faso; eight Lebanese; six Algerians; five Canadians; four Germans; two from Luxembourg; one from Mali; one Cameroonian; one Belgian; one Ukrainian; one Romanian; one Swiss; one Nigerian; and one Egyptian.
The plane's six crew members were Spanish, Houaoui said. The plane belongs to a private Spanish company, Swiftair, but it appears to have been operated by Air Algerie.
PoliticsAlleged Bomb Attacks On Mohammadu Buhari: Actions Justified Or Babaric? by ModoetForma(op): 3:44pm On Jul 24, 2014
Almost 24hrs ago,a second bomb explosion that rocked the Kawo bus station in Kaduna appeared to have targeted Mr. Buhari’s convoy. Three aides and security personnel traveling with Mr. Buhari to Daura, his hometown, have been confirmed injured in the afternoon blast. The bombers had trailed Mr. Buhari’s convoy and detonated the bomb as the convoy neared a bridge in Kawo.Scores of people were killed in the second bomb blast near a bridge in Kawo. He added that numerous people, including a security aide to Mr. Buhari and two others in the ex-general’s convoy, sustained varying degrees of injury.
However,on Monday, Mr. Buhari had issued a statement accusing President Jonathan of pushing Nigeria to the edge of a precipice. He blamed the president for a spate of impeachments of political office holders who oppose Mr. Jonathan. In his response, Mr. Jonathan told the former military ruler to focus on mending the internal rifts plaguing the opposition APC. No group has claimed responsibility for the high-profile attacks, but a security operative in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, said the explosions were likely the handiwork of islamist extremist group.

PoliticsAnother Day, Another Air Disaster Looming. by ModoetForma(op): 3:09pm On Jul 24, 2014
An Algerian passenger plane with 116 people on board disappeared from radar in northwest Africa on Thursday in what appears to be the third airline disaster in a week.
Citing an Algerian aviation official, Reuters is reportingthat the plane crashed. "I can confirm that it has crashed," the source said.
Air Algerie Flight 5017 was en route from Ouagadougou, the capital of the west African nation of Burkina Faso, to Algiers, and it lost contact with Algerian aviation authorities around 9:55 p.m. ET (1:55 a.m. GMT) as it was flying over Mali. Air Algerie saidit had no further information on the plane's whereabouts.
The airport where Flight 5017 originated published a map of where the plane was traveling when it disappeared from radar. The airport's caption says it's likely the crash zone, but there is no official confirmation if and where the plane crashed.
Foreign AffairsBlood Shed In Gaza. Is This The Beginning Of World War 3? by ModoetForma(op): 7:23pm On Jul 23, 2014
When war between Israel and Hamas broke out two weeks ago, the Palestinian militant group was so hamstrung, politically, economically and diplomatically, that its leaders appeared to feel they had nothing to lose.
Hamas took what some here call “option zero,” gambling that it could shift the balance with its trump cards: its arms and militants.
Now, this conflict has demonstrated that while Hamas governed over 1.7 million people mired in poverty, its leaders were pouring resources into its military and expanding its ability to fight Israel. If it can turn that improved military prowess into concessions, like opening the border with Egypt, that may boost its standing among the people of Gaza — although at an extraordinarily high cost in deaths and destruction.

Foreign AffairsRe: Ukraine Officials Says Officer Shot Down MH17. by ModoetForma(op): 7:07pm On Jul 23, 2014
As friends and families still mourn over MH17, as many as 47 people are feared dead and others injured in a plane crash today, wednesday on one of Taiwan's Penghu Islands, Taiwan's Central News Agency reported. Also, this same day, today, wednesday, two Ukrainian military jets were shot down Wednesday in the eastern part of the country, where pro-Russian rebels have fought against government forces
Foreign AffairsRe: Ukraine Officials Says Officer Shot Down MH17. by ModoetForma(op): 8:06am On Jul 23, 2014
There are funny excuses from Russia to these whole saga.

1.Russia officials claiming the passengers were already dead. They claimed the passengers were corpses.
2. That a Ukrainian fighter jet shot down the plane.
3. More surprising, that Putin's plane was actually the target and MH17 was as a result misidentification. The intended target was Vladimir Putin as both plane were similar in structure and design.

obayaya: I still believe Russia didn't shoot down that plane. Putin's Russia is too smart to commit that sort of blunder.

Someone Somewhere is trying so hard to whip up emotions again Putin and Russia.
Putin's Russia is too smart to commit that kind of blunder? Remember this is a war zone and the plane flew over a war zone so anything could have happened.

Foreign AffairsUkraine Officials Says Officer Shot Down MH17. by ModoetForma(op): 5:15pm On Jul 22, 2014
As bodies from Thursday's air disaster reached a facility Tuesday in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the Ukrainian government ratcheted up its accusations against Moscow, saying a Russian officer shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.
Vitaly Nayda, Ukraine's director of informational security, made the accusation in an interview with CNN. The person was "absolutely" a Russian, he said. "A Russian-trained, well-equipped, well-educated officer ... pushed that button deliberately."
Ukrainian intelligence backs up the assertion, Nayda said.
Moscow has denied claims that it pulled the trigger. And Russian Army Lt. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov suggested a Ukrainian jet fighter may have shot the plane down.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko rejected that in an exclusive interview with CNN, saying that all Ukrainian aircraft were on the ground at the time.
Nayda, speaking to CNN on Tuesday, referred to audio recordings captured by Ukrainian intelligence. "We taped conversations" between a Russian officer and his office in Moscow, Nayda said. "We know for sure that several minutes before the missile was launched, there was a report" to a Russian officer that the plane was coming, Nayda said.
"They knew the plane was coming with constant speed, in constant direction," and should have known it was not a fighter jet but "a big civilian plane," he said.
That recording is not among those that have been released.
Vitaly Churkin, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, was asked Monday about different intercepted recordings, purportedly of pro-Russian rebels talking about shooting down a plane. Churkin suggested that if they did, it was an accident.
"According to them, the people from the east were saying that they shot down a military jet," he said. "If they think they shot down a military jet, it was confusion. If it was confusion, it was not an act of terrorism

First time I was 14 and she was 16. I had to call it off then because mum was already asking questions and I was a very obedient son. I suggested we should became friends instead. She cried for a while and moved on. She lost her virginity to the next guy who happened to be a good friend of mine. Never tasted the kitty.

Fast forward, I fell in love for the first time when I turned 22 with a girl of 18. She claimed she was a virgin and I never bleeped her for the period we dated which lasted for 7 months. I had to breakup with her when I found out my girl cheating. We got talking again after about a year, invited her for a weekend at my crib and bleeped a couple of times. We still friends till date.

I got in contact with a primary school classmate some years ago, we got talking and sometimes spent hours on the phone, we connected well and soon we started dating. Mehn, she nagged at anything and being the guy 'wey no want wahala' I had to quit after about a year. Shortly afterwards a friend of hers who was also our classmate got online and I was soon to discover she had anger management issues. I could tell she loved me but her temper spoilt things. Even after the breakup she was calling to threaten me (Edo girl things) meanwhile I just kept mute because I didn't want stories that touch. Years on, we still chat once in a while.

Oh lest I forget, I had a funny breakup in between the period I dated my classmates. This girl was my kid sister's roommate. Pretty, tall and classy but she was a runs girl. She was smart enough to notice I stopped feeling her so she asked for a breakup one evening at my crib. When she was done talking I told her it was too late at night for a breakup that I'd prefer it in the morning. That night she cried while I was sound asleep, Good thing my cousin was around to console her. Funny part is, we still bleeped before she left for school the next day.
I understand she has a kid now, not sure she's married.

Ok I think that would do for now grin
That's really thick. I Hope you get a smooth relationship moving now tho.
