Even if they kill any protester, nothing will happen. The heavens will not fall. Make no mistake about that. I shall remind you about this. So many people will die wrongly and nothing will happen. This protest will not be peaceful because some criminal elements will end up hijacking it. There's going to be so many casualties. Trust our security men on stuffs like this. They know how to use force. Nigeria no be Kenya. I have been witnessing protest since the era of IBB. This one is dead on arrival. We are divided between so many lines.

I do not know about the state governors because I believe minimum wage should be left with the states. However, if the government is serious, a real labor negotiation is not all about money, separate the unions and negoatiate with them individually. If the police want certain amount, you will give them deliverables, same for NAFDAC, SON and son. A lot of this agencies are weak and they need to be strengthened, it is not all about leadership, if workers have develiverables they have to deliver within the law let them deliver it and let them agree to a merit system that is of international standard. A police divisional unit should know how to investigate crimes and get results. Imagine, i know a scammer online, soliciting for fake business, I took the number and evidence to a DPO, he said, it has to be taken to some department elsewhere and that it will cost me. I left, the scammer may still be there scamming people. If institutions and workers are effective, we will feel it. Increase in wages is cool, but effectiveness will show results everyone can see.

It won't make any much difference considering the current rate of inflation in Nigeria. State Governors are the biggest problem. Most of them will not comply with the new minimum wage that will be announced

I quite agree with you on that and it's a good thing that you won't be going to the streets to protests. Criminal elements and opportunist are lurking for an opportunity to hijack the protest to steal and loot. This is what will change the dynamics of everything. Nigeria security forces only understand one language and that's the use of force.
The government maybe forced to meet some key demands of the protesters but many would have been gone by then. May God be with those who'll embark on the protest. I wish they could be peaceful and civilized when doing their protest.

Next step will be clear delineation of task and development under the purview of local governments. Else, state government will start saying some projects are for local government not state responsibilities. E.g Road repairs, local hospitals/ health centres ,etc.

This may be the right time for companies in renewable energy sector e.g solar up north to directly invest in local council areas to build farms win win investment.
