I will like to give an honest review of the airtel smartbox router. The airtel smartbox router was advertised as one of the cheapest mobile alternatives for unlimited internet in nigeria. A first i was skeptical, but at the end i made a purchase through a marketer

Everything depends on what you want to use it for. I bought the box to be used in our small office of 5 people. The service delivery has been with many outages within a day. If you plan on using it as your day to day internet, you will be disappointed. At times, the services just disappears, it appears again but internet very slow. Atimes, you connect your tv and your tv is streaming but your phone and other gadget will not connect. Its not advisable to be used as your full time internet because of constant disappointments. Even to make whatsapp call will become annoying. You have to switch it on and off like 10 times ina day or you have to factory reset before your internet comes back.

If you plan to use it for just downloads, then i will say its worth it., but mind you, your downloads will be very slow during day but very fast during late night from 10 pm. The funniest thing about airtel is that my phone will have good network and fast internet but the router will be completely out unless you restart it, or atimes, the internet becomes very slow on the router while it will be blazing fast on the phone.

VERDICT: If you are big time download freak, you can buy the router, but your downloads will mostly be fast at night or midnight.
Avoid it as your go to for a full days reliable internet. If you work on the web i.e, online jobs, just avoid it as the netwoek will always disappoint you.

I will advise you to just subscribe to your local isp like cobranet, ipnx etc than subcribe to this airtel unlimited plans.

ARE THE PLANS TRULY UNLIMITED?.. Yes i think they are unlimited with a catch. if you use upto 250gb, your speed will be slowed down, so you cant really do much on it except to browse the internet.

This is my honest review given after 2 months of using this router.

someone i want to sell to me after seeing your review i am having cold feet please i want to ask does it have cast feature what i mean is that if connect my phone to the device everything that is showing on my phone would be showing on my tv ?

There is no such thing as youtube automation. The phrase is mostly used by people selling courses who promise easy results. The word automation tricks people into thinking the process is simple. Everything you said is exactly how it works except the social media account part. If your bootloader is not unlocked it is practically impossible to even flash the phone. By the way, I don't think many phone thieves these days are dumb, they know about tracking and all, in fact, thieves are seeing what we post here too, so they are careful.

December 2023 my phone was stolen, it was a miracle we found the thief the next day because someone saw him running out like a thief from the premises the previous day. The thief in question was around 16 years old then and didn't look very sharp in my eyes. But was shocked me was, in less than 24 hours he was in possession of the phone, he already deleted all my media files and replaced them with his. He also ensured all apps and settings were locked. All these was possible because I didn't bother using any lock feature on my phone, I only enabled find my device from my Mi account. The plan was if anybody steals the phone, he/she won't need to flash the phone to use it, just delete my files and move on. That was, I can even allow the person to use the phone for like a week before tracking him or her down.
To my amazement, the plan worked, the thief did not flash the phone, he just deleted by files but he was smart enough to ensure that he didn't use the phone with any sim or with any connectivity to the internet. He later confessed that he was planning to sell off the phone as scrap. Nowadays, many times, stolen phones are torn apart and the parts sold off to avoid any form of tracking.

That is what i am saying after flashing the phone mi account would lock the phone make it impossible for thief to use if the thief could not use the phone there is no way the phone can be track that is why i said that option should be remove and even after flashing your mi account should still be active

Now I understand what you want. In summary, you want to use the stolen phone as a bait to catch the thief right?
You cannot logout your mi account from the device remotely. Assuming lost mode was enabled and you didn't turn on screen lock (either by password or fingerprint), then your best bet would have been to just retrieve your sim(s) and allow the thief to use the phone. That way it would be easy to achieve what you want. But even at that, if anyone makes an attempt to flash the phone or even do a factory reset, the phone will be locked and will be difficult to track too.

all this mi account and anti theft app are rubbish i think producer of phone should create an app even if the thief flash the phone the mi account should be still active that locking of a thing should be optional allow the thief use the phone and immediately another sim is insert on the phone let the number be sent to your email and very password of the thief social account it would go a long way to solve phone thief
