Additionally, once a matter is before a court, certain aspects of it become subjudice, containing information flow until the case unfolds. For instance, in this situation, it may not be until December 10 that any new details emerge. Are you aware that his legal team, anticipating the possibility of his remand, could have preemptively filed a bail application during the proceedings? Per information available, they didnt.


I also strongly believe that he was not caught off guard by these developments. In fact, I would not be surprised if the actions taken against him are unfolding in alignment with a strategy or narrative he had anticipated or orchestrated. Again, these are my thoughts based on the information I have gleaned so far.

All of the locations in the petition says 'Lagos! Lagos!! Lagos!!!'

The petition says the printed material was distributed to Ekiti, read in Ekiti, and influenced the minds of his clientele in Ekiti as well as other parts of the world. It’s the law, the angles you choose to ignore can be the strengths upon which the other parties case is built.

He was serially invited. He insisted the matter was for detetmination in Lagos since the events and the fallouts occurred in Lagos.

He ignored the angle that the petitioners came from, that the book, the subject of the defamatory claims was sold outside of Lagos. The petitioner could have opted to sue him in the FCT on the same basis if he so wished.

At the bolded... Has the case been tried before to consider whether it falls under a criminal offense or not? Or was it hastily declared without due process to be a criminal offense?

The Police is acting and prosecuting based on a petition claiming criminal defamation. It’s a process I believe is not neo to you.

Criminal defamation is still applicable under the laws of Ekiti state where he’s being arraigned. He will have his day in court. He’s less ruffled than most of the persons who have hijacked his defense online. He’s an experienced lawyer. He’s in the know that “he who asserts must prove”. He also was called to the Nigerian bar after attending law school wherein there’s a full course on legal ethics. Dele Farotimi will be just fine. Make una leave am.
