timtom: I did a calculation and i realize that my monthly bill should be between N 1,500 and N 2,000. so i don't care about the bill they bring.

I have reported Ikeja DISCO to CPC and my next plan is to meet with them and request to see their billing system. They need to explain to me how I consume N 10,000 - N 15, 0000 worth of electricity monthly, when there is meter.

Infact, I will go to the extent of getting a court injunction to achieve all these. Until we fight for our right, we will continue to see mediocrity as a norm

nkpommpko: Until nigerians unanimously learn to say enough is enough we shall not see the end of this.
I agree with you 100 percent. Just don't know how to start yet but somehow, someday I hope I can spearhead a liberation campaign. If I'm not powerful enough to hit the street, maybe I'll try social media. But onething is sure until we arise there is no way out. But let's never ignore the greatest weapon of all - PRAYER

Honestly anyone who has not experienced this sort of nepa criminality would not understand the gravity of what op is saying. My shop where I sell cold drinks has been closed for nearly a month now because recently another team of nepa officers came and said my monthly bill of NI500 which I paid faithfully was too small. Come and see how they were actind as if they'd caught a thief. It was terrible. They say I should additional N21000 b4 they reconnected me and triggered a new bill that I should be paying.
The truth is why are we treated like slaves in this coutry? Govt has not enough jobs for evryone. Then you scout to survive by your own sweat yet they come after you like you are not a human being. Yet we have no where no one to cry to. Are such situations not encouraging people to try out other means of survival which in the end may not be good? Just how do they want a common man to survive in this country? They've sold out evry little inheritance we are entitled to and we are made to pay for our own entitlements.
Pls can anyone help with useful info. Can the power holders do whatever they like and get away with it? Then why not simply share up this country and let everyone carry his/her share of millions than have people manage our wealth to our own hurt.

mmsen: You can't read.

"Middle Eastern" backwardness is what I said - and I was only speaking in reference to the religions that have emanated from that part of the world.
You can read.
Eastern is eastern - take note. Also I guess you can read that you never initially said you were referring to the religions from that part of the world.

The very truth is that in that 2011 the north voted Goodluck. Nigeria voted Goodluck. Everywhere he had such favour. I live in the north. Only after the results were announced some lame opponents began to stir up a preplanned warfare that has never ended till today. I never voted Goodluck but everywhere I saw the favour he commanded. I don't know if any of you saw then a short beautiful campaign movie then in hausa. I never expected the unwarranted hatred that has continued to be propagated against this man. What you saw here again in kano is the proof that deep down everyone knows Goodluck has tried to be as fair as anyone could be. We're all seeing it

mmsen: There have been numerous empires and 'civilizations'. If you did not know that then I fear for you. Anybody who claims that civilisation is unique to the western world should not be taken seriously.

How is 'corrosiveness' a doctrine in Islam? What does that even mean?
I wanted to take you serious but I guess you'll prefer to stick to your presumed ideologies. If it is true that civilization came in diverse folds (and you're right)then retract your "eastern backwardness" clause now. As for islam and corrosives or islam and jihad, if you claim not to understand then you just told us how much you should be feared.

mmsen: Who is mistaken here?

Since when did 'Westernism' equate to Civilization? Only a foolish person would make such a claim.

The fact that you cannot see that all of these religions that Nigerians labour under are equally corrosive is indicative of your lack of reasoning.
Thanks. So where did civilization come from? And by the way, is any truth not worth defending worth living for? Corrosiveness is a doctrine of jihad which islam teaches which gives birth to terrorism everywhere. You don't have that in xty.

mmsen: Until a substantial percentage of Nigerians are willing to throw away the shackles of backwards middle eastern philosophy (that would include xtianity) the likelihood of Nigeria emerging from its current state will remain minimal.
You may be a little mistaken. Has xnty represented easternism or westernism and civilization? Why does boko haram fight christians in the name of westernism?

Genesis 16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Confirmed! That's why its so annoying when they start to pretend about all that's going on. And sadly many ignorant christians provide the cover for them. Trying to ask who are boko harams? As if it is not too glaring

With due respect I've been sincerely thinking this. Come to think of a country that has witnessed so much horrific religious conflicts. And then comes an islamic faction claiming they are here to fulfil the injunction of their holy book....to liberate moslems from the dominance of christians. They have claimed several times that they are only fighting fellow moslems who betrayed them or refuse to support their mission.
So sincerely, does the average moslem living from hand to mouth like the rest of people not feel an inner disposition towards this cause? Let's maturedly and sensibly look at this. Could that be the reason for the ever unending number of the terrorists?

During the initial bomb campaigns against churches, one would go to church every sunday with his heart in the throat until service was over. Then I overheard some moslem youth playfully asking themselves that hasn't there been any knockout(bomb)yet that sunday? These are guys I knew and I felt so bad that they were praying for churches to be attacked. I've heard such indirect comments from several other moslems. By then most of them never knew that somday when the fury had climaxed the same sword would visit home. In those days you had to complain before any key moslem leader would condemn the attach on christians.
I don't know if anyone else feels this way but - is boko haram not actualy playing a popular script for the moslems, but perhaps only going about it too radically for their conscience?
