Good evening house,
Please who knows of anyone who recently got PPR for visitor’s visa. I haven’t been seeing pple share their PPR stories and am wondering. I applied in March and got refused in April, it only took 3 weeks. Re applied in June through the new portal and was hoping decision will come in time but the wait hasn’t been easy.
I haven’t seen my husband for almost 1 year. It’s beginning to get at me. |

I am really grateful to God for His graciousness over me and my family because this can only be God. The journey to travel to Canada started with my hubby in 2020/2021 but he couldn't secure an admission. He also tried a UK sch but nothing positive. We both decided to switch the applicant and apply to Canada again and several UK schs. I became the Principal applicant for Canada and we both did several UK schs. I was given admission less than 2 weeks after I submitted my application and we both had 7 admissions all together from UK schs. We decided to stick with Canada as travelling to UK now is not beans. It was really a tough decision for us when we wanted to apply for Visa. We read of how it was best for one person to go first before others joining but the thought of leaving my husband and son behind scared me oo so we decided to put our faith in God and submit as a family. We praise the name of the Lord because it has ended in praise.
I'd like to say a big thank you to all our support system in this application for admission and Visa journey. God bless you all and to Nairaland family..you guys ehnn you too much. God bless you all including our gurus( Frank, Anon and several others. Your selfless service will never go unrewarded by the Almighty. And to all PPR hopefuls you are next in Jesus name. Amen
Sorry for the long post, I just had to be explicit enough for others who want to apply as a family. Big Congratulations!!! My PPR is coming before the end of this week in Jesus name, Amen! |

Wales55: The Lord has done it My application has been approved First application was submitted in January (Wife is a student and pregnant) and rejected in February (new portal) Second application was submitted on the 7th of March(old portal as adviced by the consultant we are working with) No update, many emails was sent, webform was sent and Mp was contacted but still no update 25th of May- second application was refused which was a sad one as my wife was in labour that same day. Thankfully she had a safe delivery An appeal for reconsideration was submitted with the evidence of delivery and within 24 hrs,an update was made on the application June 3rd- Approval (PPR Letter) (PS: I don't know how the appealing for reconsideration was done as it wasn't done by us but if you feel you need to and you know how to,please don't hesitate to appeal) Indeed my family has seen the goodness of the Lord Wow! The Lord is faithful. Congratulations on your PPR and on the new born. |

ami213: You can’t file reconsideration for a visitor visa. Only on rare cases does a VO reconsider VV when a decision has been made but you can opt for a judicial review if you feel the basis for refusal was unjust. JR could be very expensive.
I will advise you request for your GCMS to know the detail refusal reasons and reapply.
This is noted, thanks |

Lezy: Did you apply through GC Key or New Portal?
I would advise you apply for GCM NOTE, address the cause of refusal and reapplying as soon as possible considering the time it takes to process it Thanks |

ami213: Long Post Alert!
My fellow Nairalanders! Please felicitate with me because my God is good and kind to me, to him alone be all the glory. I just received my long awaited PPR. VV for the spouse of an international student. I learnt a lot from this forum and it is very imperative I give back.
My first application was submitted June 2021 Resubmitted a new application via the new portal January 9 2022. Refusal letter February 9 2022 (Refused Based on Family ties) I ordered GCMS notes same day. Reapplied February 22 2022 PPR April 7 2022
A refusal letter hits differently, I was devastated because I thought I had a strong and convincing application. It took me about 2 weeks to get myself to write a new LOE and SOP.
A sweetheart on this platform @mzjanez01 reached out to me and advised I reapply without the notes. She was kind to share how her husband tackled his refusal reasons as well. Jane, you are far too kind oh! Thanks for all the prayers and kind words.
My GCMS notes arrived on the 12th of March, it seems to be the shortest GCMS notes have seen. The VO wrote that “ applicant has strong family ties in Canada”. To be honest, I was disappointed because I was expecting a more detailed notes. (I kuku report the VO to God) Luckily for me the VO concern has been addressed in the new application.
What i did to Tackle the refusal reason based on family ties? I strengthened my HOME TIES. Having surfed through YouTube and Other forums, I realized that no one knows your story more than YOU when it comes to addressing Home/Family Ties. I explained my responsibilities to my parent, I wrote extensively about how important my career in Nigeria is, my personal business and ongoing projects.
Aside being an employee of a reputable agency, I further explained my other commitments and responsibilities that will make me return back to Nigeria and I supported my explanations with valid documents. Although the commitments were briefly mentioned in the first application but this time it was detailed and I connected how my absence will affect each of them. I included more documents to support each claim unlike the first application. To be honest, it wasn’t by the documents but God was fully involved. I think Baba God was tired of me murmuring my application number every morning and night, hence the PPR. lol!
The wait for PPR isnt for the faint hearted especially when you see people who applied after you sharing their timelines (e go come be like say na only you waka come). God of NLP answers prayer, I prayed and fasted fervently for this PPR. Chail! IRCC messed with my mental health. The plan was to visit my spouse after his first academic year but I couldn’t because of the pandemic. As it is, the visa got approved just in time for convocation (graduation is this summer) although Graduation wasn’t stated for purpose of visit, it was plainly “family reunification “
May this kind of joy go round. To all PPR hopefuls, it is just a delay not a denial.
(PS: I typed this timeline on the 22nd of March 2022 during my leisure time)
Documents Submitted: Statement of Purpose letter LOE on FAMILY TIES. Marriage Certificate Notarized copy of Marriage Certificate. Affidavit for change of maiden name. Family Images.
