okpeho: @ Murphy, i have an Hp Compaq laptop, recently when i turned on the laptop, the screen remains blank (black) but i could hear the fan running and the charger light was on. Please what could be the problem and possible solutions.

Your laptop is malfunction as a result of over heating.this happen when an AMD (I guess your laptop is built with AMD motherboard) sytem is placed on a Bed for a long time or when overcharged.but it can be fixed.my advice to you is to bring it to our workshop for repair.have a great day.
