The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, has said that ‘policemen’ alleged to have disrupted Saturday’s governorship poll in parts of Bayelsa and Kogi States were “fake” and not the personnel officially deployed for election duties.

Adamu stated that all security personnel, who worked during the poll had “special identification tags”, adding that anyone without the tags was on illegal duty.

Two lecturers kidnapped in Mahuta community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have regained their freedom after spending six days in the hands of their abductors.

The two lecturers, Adamu and Umar Chinoko both brothers from Kebbi state, were abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on November 11,2019.

Just in a 2-year-old lion reportedly owned by an unnamed Indian national has been discovered at a residential apartment in Lagos.

Chairman of Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences Yinka Egbeyemi who confirmed this on Sunday November 17, said the lion is caged at No 229 Muri Okunola Street in Victoria Island.

A 54-year-old man known as Segun Mopoderun who killed his neighbour by pouring hot water on him after an argument occured at their 3 Iyanu Oluwopo Street off County, Ogba-Aguda Agege residence on the morning of Saturday November 16 has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

The deceased is identified as 58-year-old Oposanwo Gbenga died of injuries he sustained after being rushed to the hospital for treatment. His corpse has been deposited at Ikorodu General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy as it is also expected that the detectives at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) handling the case will charge the suspect to court after concluding its investigation.

The Enugu State Police Command says it has commenced a massive manhunt of abductors of a Catholic Priest, Rev.-Fr. Theophilus Ndulue.

This makes it two weeks after Rev.-Fr Arinze Madu, Deputy Rector, Queen of the Apostle Spiritual Year Seminary, Imezi Owa in Ezeagu Local Government Area, was released by his abductors.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, Ndulue was abducted by unidentified gunmen on his way home along Amansiodo Road in Ndiagu-Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area on Friday evening while returning from a pastoral council meeting.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Osun State on Saturday, November 16th,2019 confirmed that seven people died in a road accident on Osogbo-Ikirun Road, with only one survivor.

The Sector Commander, Peter Oke, made this known in Osogbo saying, “the accident involved an articulated vehicle and a mini-bus with eight passengers which occurred on Osogbo-Ikirun Road in which only one person survived.

A 30 year old victim “Emmanuel Obiefuna”, started making suicidal posts via his Facebook page and all attempts by his family and friends to prevail on him, proved abortive and he never disclosed his exact location in Lagos.

A lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Lagos State University (LASU), Dr. Ogunwande Isiaka Ajani, has challenged his dismissal over allegation of sexual harassment at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN).

He was dismissed by the LASU authorities following complaints by a female student, one Miss Yusuf Abosede, of alleged amorous and sexual overtures.

In the suit filed by his counsel, Akinyemi Oladipo, the claimant joined the university’s Governing Council, the vice chancellor, the registrar and chairman of the Joint Council/Senate (Academic) Disciplinary Committee as co-defendants.

The Shehu of Bama in Borno State, Kyari Ibn Umar El-Kanemi, has banned commercial sex workers from the state.

Mr Abba Shehu-Umar, the Personal Secretary to the emir disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Maiduguri

The emir lamented the increase in number of commercial sex workers, despite clamp down on illegal brothels and commercial sex workers at Galadima area of Maiduguri.

The emir warned that those found to be engaging in the act or other forms of criminality would be prosecuted, while their premises would be demolished in accordance with the state government’s policy on such illegal structures in Maiduguri.

Katsina State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus.

The Ondo State Police Command, on Sunday, said it had arrested a man identified as Lawan Sale for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl at a cattle market in Sango in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, a trader, who brings cattle from the northern part of the country to sell in Akure, was said to have committed the act last Thursday, while the victim was going to school.

A 27-year old man, Kevin Williams, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he publicly disgraced a lady by engaging her in public fight, tearing her clothes, bra and stripping her completely Unclad over N200 debt.


According to PM Express, the incident happened at Federal Bus Stop Gate in Ipaja area of Lagos, where Williams accosted the victim, Arike Olaogun.

It was gathered that Williams owed the victim N200 for an undisclosed transaction and she demanded the money from him. Williams was said to have been angered by the demand; he reportedly grabbed her, rained blows on her and she became confused.

He then tore her clothes including bra and then stripped her completely Unclad before their neighbours rescued and covered her unclothedness.

Two corps members of the National youths service corps(NYSC)currently undergoing a tree weeks orientation course for the 2019 Batch C stream 1 in Ebonyi state, have been sacked from orientation camp for refusing to wear trouser.

The duo, it was gathered that they refused to put on trousers because according to them, it is against their faith and as such preffered to wear skirt, which is meant for female folks.

The spokesperson of the Nysc in the state,Ngozi Ukwuoma in a statement made available to the newsmen, said that the duo were spotted by the camp director, Mrs Isu Josephine, and her team during routine inspection wearing white t-shirt and white skirt.
