Business › Re: Guinness Nigeria Reports ₦20 Billion Profit, 6 Months After Tolaram Takeover by Mynd44(mod): 6:51am On Jan 24, 2025 |
budaatum: Nigerian Guinness is big in UK already, and a shortage of local Guinness increased demand of all available stouts in UK including Nigerian Guinness. And I wouldn't be surprised if that increase in demand was all over Europe and even worldwide.
That's not to say Tolaram didn't do "some good sales and marketing", though I doubt their increase was mostly from Nigerian sales.
The below is for 4 bottles. Tell what that would be in Naira. This itself is a testament to what Tolaram did. They expanded their markets beyond Nigerian shores and start exporting which ensured that they produce more and sold more. If Tolaram had decided to sit pretty and not look outwards, they would have been stuck on just the local market. Now due to the difference in Alchohol percentages and taste, sone of these European markets will want to keep Nigerian brewed Guiness on their shelf as their customers will ask for it. That is market strategy |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Urges Opec To Slash Oil Prices by Mynd44(mod): 6:44am On Jan 24, 2025 |
simeonabio: He is even diplomatic for now, He can say America should drill her own oil, and stop buying therefore reducing demand for crude oil, which invertibly crash the price if OPEC refuses. The cost of drilling and maintaining oil wells is a major problem. If the price of crude oil falls, American oil companies will have less reason to produce locally as there won't be any profit for them. The prices of oil needs to be high for America to increase its oil outputs. |

ijebosb: The Hunter Biden pardon was the correct choice. Bill Barr's appointed Special Counsel went after Hunter for political motivations. The plea deal he initially struck was equitable given every past case for the same offense. It was pulled because of pressure from Trump and Republicans and then they aggressively went after him. Trump and Republicans have utterly weaponized the government, just listen to their words. I don't blame Biden for what he did with Hunter nor his preemptive pardons for the J6 committee.
A President pardoning 1600 people who tried to overturn the election cannot be comparable. If Hunter was not Biden's sine and was aggressively chased by some DA Somewhere ever a personal vendetta will that person get a pardon? Nepotism begets nepotism |

Finally, the networks can begin to reinvest in their infrastructure and improve on service.
Most Nigerians don't even understand that the networks have been turning off cell sites because of the price of diesel and have also been sacrificing other aspects of their operations to cut cost.
How can the prices of everything else go up and you tell them they can't increase prices? Very unfair and this has led to a lack of new investments in the telecoms sector |

Nnamdipapa: Signing pardons for his fellow criminals. He belongs in jail with those baskets of deplorables. One illegality begets another. Biden pardoned his son in what can only be called abuse of office and Trump is sitting in that abuse of office role to do this nonsense. These are two sides of a rotten and corrupt coin |
