I doubt assault was part of his records.. you better check your facts again. It was mainly drug related and was due to PTSD.

Whilst his green card was revoked and he put on removal order he was allowed to stay in the US and required annual check-ins with immigration agent - which happens for individuals that are not considered top priority for deportation by ICE. And we know why Sae Joon Parks case is/was a special one.

But Trump and his team are out there to deport just about anybody and not willing to carefully follow due process in reviewing cases meticulously, even for those who have served and taken bullets for the country..
