Excellent7: I am really surprised at the negative comments about Morgan and her customer service because my experience has been totally different. Infact, the promptness of their service to me have made me do over 85% of my transactions with them. When I was making enquiries about account opening via email, they were the first to respond. When I sent in almost at the same time the account opening documentations, the were the first to open (I think it took less than 60 hours). About a month ago, I had to liquidate some positions across two stockbroking firms, again they came first in effecting sales and transferring the proceeds to my bank. My experiences shared here happened between May and early September.
I will not forget to to say that their reduced brokerage fees have been cool too.

Anyway, she has abandoned me.Back to the question sir, if I am to invest 2m in stock market, I should not expect less than 300k dividend. I am a greedy person o. With my little experience now, I target stocks that can give me over 10% dividend with a measure of high probability. And I try to run away from stocks with ROE of less than 20% because i have learnt that ROE determines the price elasticity of stocks. I also run away from stocks that is demonstrating consistently falling ROE; there is no point running after 10% dividend only for the value of ur holding to be falling . Thirdly, I do not put my money in stocks showing no growth because that is the only way that I can convince myself that it will not pay less dividend that the previous year.
Based on the above epistle, the only coy holding my attention right now is Afriprud. Ubcap also falls in that category but somehow, my instinct is not comfortable with the coy.Anyway, "who are mine"?NB: I also do not believe in diversification. Don't try this at home o

kokobaba: Also notice that diamond,fcmb and skye paid a dividend of 30k. Diamond bank that has not been consistent paying dividend paid 30k inspite of having a higher EPS. This is a company that paid dividend only twice in 5yrs. In terms of dividend, I would rather buy skye trading @ a cheaper price than diamond or fcmb trading @ a higher price. Why? Cos they will most likely pay the same amount of dividend next year I.e the 3 banks cos history has a way of repeating itself. Moreover, they are all tier 2 banks

bro take a look at my Oga post above may be it will make any sense, paying dividend not always mean d company is worth betting on, companys paid dividend for different purpose most especially if a company is eyeing to raise fund in future time. cowboylism thinz O and o paid consistent dividend as well. d recent one they paid 30k when their eps is less than dt, cileasing propose dividend recently only to come out of story of reconstruction week later
