These elections are set for October 5, 2024. This process allows residents of these states to choose leaders for their local government areas, influencing local governance and development directly at the grassroots level.
The elections are a significant aspect of local democracy, where issues like community development, local infrastructure, and direct service delivery are at the forefront.
God1000: continue with your propaganda, israel has committed thousands of genocide in Palestine, I will forever hate them even though I'm christian but I won't support murderers
The people you call terrorists are fighting for their own freedom
This is why states need their own police, too. They were saying that States don't need police cos they will misuse the Institution as if FG is not misusing theirs, too.
Cos the FG under the APCshit is trying to take all the powers from the States and add to their own. This is why those who are enlightened are agitating for not just true federalism but true fiscal federalism.
If this Country is not truly restructured to function as a true Federal Republic, this nonsense will not ever stop.
BeeBeeOoh: The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has cautioned River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from making “unfounded allegations” against him.
Daily Trust had reported how Fubara accused Egbetokun of working with his opponents, vowing to hold him accountable if there is break down of law and order in the state.
Fubara made the allegation after intervening in an incident at the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office on Friday morning.
According to the governor, he prevented an alleged attempt by the police to remove materials meant for the upcoming local government elections.
Egbetokun, while reacting in a statement on Friday night by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said it was shocking to see Fubara storm the RSIEC office.

AcuraZDX: Na 33k is trending because NYSC corps members are complaining after receiving a whopping ₦33k allawee for September, instead of the approved ₦77k from the Federal Government.
In June NLC & FG agreed on minimum wage of ₦70,000. On 29th July, Pres. Tinubu signed it into law.
Last week, FG announced it had been implemented and corps members will get ₦77k henceforth, with top up arrears balance for July and August.
Quelme: Netayanhu and his masters will be shitting their pants right now. They don't know how to respond without escalating.
They have met a very formidable foe with extensive combat experience. After all, Netayanhu fired the first shot and the Persians responded with equal measure.
If Israel do respond, Iran will respond with greater force. We never saw this type of skirmishes during Trump's time. Another reason to vote out the old senile demented Joe.
It's a shame that after the firing of several hundreds of missiles, no significant damage was done on Israel's territories cos most of those missiles were intercepted.
When the lunch theirs Israeli civilians take cover, when Israel reterliate their mumu civilians refused to take cover and they die woto woto. Then some mumu will blame Israel.
