In Nigeria system anything goes, we have axillary nurses standing as docs, unqualified personnel dispensing drugs, e.t.c. In that kind of setting, anyone that can recognize reticulocyte, culture micro organisms e.t.c in respective of his degree can be employed as a clinical chemist.

In a standard hospitals (FMC, teaching hospitals, specialist hospitals), all laboratory are manned by licensed Medical laboratory Scientists. Each country have there own regulatory bodies for Medical Laboratory ( nig MlsCn, Australia Aimls).

Any biochemistry graduate working in a hospital that is licensed, must be an Associate of Med laboratory science. And they have stopped the program.

I bolded where you talked about each country and to be sincere all I want to know is about Nigeria, you didn't answer my question....

I asked if you knew anyone that has been refused from working as a clinical chemist because he studied biochemistry..

biochemist don't work in the hospital as clinical chemist( chemical pathologist). Those who work in the hospital as clinical chemist are medical Laboratory Scientists..

Are you saying this because you think that is what happens or because you know someone who was refused a position because he studied biochemistry... because I know someone who works in a hospital in Nigeria with that degree..
