Hi Everyone, please I need help with my TB certificate. I just got a call from the VAC that my passport just arrived at their office, that I should pick it up tomorrow, but my TB certificate valid until 29th of this month, but am planning to travel with it on the 28th of this month. Is there going to be any problem if I used it? Please, someone with good ideal should advice quickly.

Thanks for all your good advices as always,
Winso26
Hi Winso26,

Congratulations.

From what you said you still have one day before the expiry, you'd be fine. From my personal experience, mine expired more than one month before I travelled, (my TB test for peculiar reasons had only 3 months validity), they asked me for the TB test at immigration and I told them I didn't have it with me, they still let me in although I came in with my hubby. So I believe you'd be fine.

Cheers.

Hey all

About the NHS surcharge, on their web page does my husband select the following?

1)Are you currently in the UK? NO
2)Are you under 18 and in local authority care? NO
3)What is your nationality? NIGERIA
4)What is your visa route? SETTLEMENT
5)What is your visa type? HUSBAND
6)What is your date of birth? DD/MM/YYYY

Based on the information provided we have calculated that your total Immigration Health Surcharge is £600

Am I selecting the correct visa route and type?

He is applying for a UK Spouse visa, I meet the salary with no dependent children, thank you

Karen
Hi Karen,

Yes, that's the one.

Hey Newbie,

I just found out that this is valid for 6 months, not 3 months smiley

https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa/overview

i hope you are well
Hi Karen,

I am well, you? Yes, I eventually found out that most have 6 months validity, mine had 3 months, I reckon because I did the xray then sputum tests so they reduced the validity of mine to 3 months. Apparently, a straight xray case has the maximum validity which is 6months.

Cheers.

Hi Karen,

Sorry I didn't notice the part where you asked the question earlier, it was embedded in my own write up.

About the supporting documents for communication, I think the call log from July last year and the whatsapp from September this year should work, what you can do is to state in your letter that you lost the previous whatsapp chats then you can also include your ticket print out for your visits to Nigeria and any other correspondence.

I wish you the best

Hi Newbie,

Since I sent the documents to S3 8WA, and I didn't send to Vulcan house, and the ECO has sent me an email saying my online application has been received, and they can't do anything until the supporting documents have been received, do you think it will still be reviewed? How about the two weeks deadline given? I have called the Embassy several times, when they check their system, they kept saying that there is nothing with the GWF reference number on their system. I am asking you because I think you've been in the same situation. Please come to my aid. I have not received any email about my documents, except email saying my online app has been received. Don't hesitate to contact me if you require some info.
Hoping to hear from you pretty soon.
Hello, don't work yourself up. If you read through my message when I got the visa, I stated that I never got an email confirming the delivery of my supporting documents, the postal address you sent to is the same one I used not the Vulcan House one and just like the email you said you received and posted here stated, mails from both addresses get delivered to the same office then they sort and I told you in my earlier post that it took almost a month after we mailed the documents before my hubby was contacted, I think it was just 2 days shy of a month. I'd advice you just hold on and tell your spouse to keep an eye out for the phone call. It seems like forever when you are waiting I know but it won't be long now anymore.

I don't quite get what you said about the two weeks deadline, can you explain?

All the best.

Hi, when the documents were sent to this address, did you get any response that it is the right address?
Hoping to hear from you soon.
No, I did not get any response that they received it, my hubby was called almost a month later for interview.

Wow

God bless you sista amazing news yay. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Im gathering all my final documents now, hubby applying in November, I have told him to get his TB cert.

He is also getting a criminal record check with the police, so that he can work in security here once he arrives and does the relevant tests for his licence, this is not for immigration though, but told him is a good idea, luckily i know many people in the security industry here and they enquired for me wink

I am looking to pay for his application fees and the nhs surcharges on my credit card, so im hoping i can login to his acc and pay the fees huh

Have you got your ticket? Would be lovely to keep in contact smiley

Stay blessed, Kind regards

Karen
Hallo Karen,

Thank you very much. I got your email request, I will keep in touch.

Please don't let your hubby rush to get the TB cert as it has a 3 month validity.

You will be able to pay for the application and nhs surcharge, just log on to his account and effect payment with your credit card.

No, I haven't bought ticket yet, I will soon, I am giving one month notice at work first.

All the best with your application.

Warm Regards
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by newbie715:
Hello Everyone,

I really thank God. It's Yay time again grin The visa has come. grin I am really happy I discovered this forum‎. It guided me while I was putting documents together for submission and answered questions I had even after submission. I am particularly grateful to Justwise, Kazan and Girlfio cool for the suggestions then Karen (Portsmouth86) for crossing fingers and toes for me smiley.

Here is my timeline, it took more time than usual but that's because I had a setback so don't be discouraged.‎

March 23rd: I did the chest Xray for TB test then online submission‎

March 24th: ‎I was supposed to pick up the TB certificate and go for biometrics. Because I don't live in Lagos, I took 2 days off so that I could do the Xray, collect the certificate the next day then go on to submit passport and do biometrics but when I went to pick up the certificate, I was told that the Xray was abnormal, they said it was probably because I had pneumonia in 2013 and I had cough when I did the Xray, so I was told that I couldn't get a certificate as they don't work with maybes so they said they'd book me for sputum test, I had to come and cough and give them sample for 3 consecutive mornings and wait for 8 weeks atleast for the result (I couldn't believe my ears sad) but I had no choice so I did it, the result came out almost 9 weeks later so I picked it up and did biometrics on the 11th of June so I lost almost 3 months between online submission and biometrics, I had to keep going online to move my submission date so that my application will still be valid and because of the wait, I fell into the health surcharge period so I paid that as well.

June 11th: Submission, Biometrics and Skype interview‎

June ‎24th: Supporting documents sent to Sheffield

June 25th: We tracked the documents and we saw they had been delivered but I thought I was going to get an email confirming that they had received them. (it was at this point that Karen was crossing fingers and toes for me) It never came so I guess they don't acknowledge it‎

July 23rd: Hubby was called for interview

July 28th: Hubby had the interview‎ and when he asked the interviewer when we were likely to know the outcome, he told him 2 weeks that this is a busy period for them.

August 10th: I got ‎an email from Sheffield saying they had made a decision and that I'd get the passport within 3-5 work days

August 13th: I got 2 emails from Teleperformance, one in the morning saying a decision had been made that I will be contacted when they receive my passport. The second email came in the evening‎ stating that they had my passport so I should come and pick up.

August 17: I picked up the passport and it had Visa that had been issued on 31/07/2015. Yayyyy‎ grin grin

I am very happy and I am glad for all the feedback I got on this forum, what justwise has done here is highly commendable, not only did he create the thread but he constantly checks and assists people. Well done.

What I have to add is that everybody's ‎case is different. I didn't do the English test, we didn't have call log, o‎nly email history (lots of it) and BBM chat (just a few recent chats), because we had both changed phones severally we didn't have the old chats anymore. We are both busy at work during the day so we don't speak but we send loads of email then we Skype or do BBM call in the evening, we didn't print out the Skype but we had tickets and hotel reservations for holidays we took together, (3 holidays in total) so that and the email log was what we used as evidence of communication plus Hubby has been to Nigeria 4 times this year and about the same last year so we added the stamped pages of his passport showing the visits. Also a friend of mine was denied settlement Visa last month and one of the reasons is that she didn't state she knew her husband the 2 times she applied for visit visa but her records show that they had met as at that time. I fall into that category but they still gave me the visa...Thank God. Yaaay. The point is if you feel you are lacking in one area, do an overload of the one you have to prove that you have that area covered.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to assist.

Thank you everyone once more, Nandos crew, are new members still welcome

hello all

please dear house guide me regarding visa n NHS fees

i m from pakistan my sponsir is in uk.

i need to fill and pay visa fees. the payment method or currency is showing PKR (pakistani currency although previously it was in pound GBP)

i hav no debit credit card and the visa fee is very huge too

is it possible if my sponsor in uk pay my fees through his uk bank card in pound GBP and currency automatically convert in PKR and payment accepthuh

pls guide
Dear Phaara

Yes, your sponsor can pay the visa fees for you with his card, just give him your username and password so he can process the payment for you then you can conclude the application. Same with the NHS, you'd need to create an account for that and he can also make payment for you.

Best of luck.

It was meant to be a surprise and was kind of a spontaneous decision, hubby currently sick with Malaria so I told him I have a surprise for him, he felt so much better knowing I'm coming again, bless him.

He lives in Bariga so not too far really I had to tell him as he has to meet me at the airport ...luckily it his days off the date I fly into Lagos, made sure he wasn't working grin

No spending, I'm quite self controlled in shopping environments, luckily not a long stop in Madrid for me to have any exposure to the shops haha.
Good for you on all counts. It all works out. Enjoy yourself and speedy recovery to your hubby.

I told hubby about your Iberia deal and he's been checking, no such deals anymore, atleast not this month or August, hubby is miffed grin I wonder how you got yours. shocked

Ive been such a nawty wifey, I just saw a flight from London Gatwick to Lagos on Iberia, via Madrid for £384 and I accidently filled in my details and hit confirm haha grin shocked cool cheesy wink

I can only go for 5 days as that's all I could confirm from work but hey, I'm missing hubby and for that price why not, the overtime is more that 3x that anyway.

Warmer regards
Oooo, that's a very good deal. Just don't blow the difference between this and the Virgin flight while shopping in Madrid as that will nullify the good deal grin

Having said that, I wish you a smooth flight and a nice visit in Nigeria and I hope he is in Lagos so you don't have more local travel that will eat into your precious 5 days

BTW, is it a surprise visit cos hubby has surprised me like that twice and I loved it.

Aww no, I'm sorry to hear that, i hate it when they drag their heels angry

My documents are just about done now, I just need to add the additional months up till when hubby applies, due to finances of the fees we are applying in early November, I am working a lot of overtime over here, some crazy hours I even done 60 hours extra on top of my standard 38.5 hour weeks in June alone,(on nights too tongue) it will be worth it in the end though cheesy

Thinking of you kiss
Wow, that's a lot of over time but yes it will be worth it in the end, hang in there.

So, I've been searching for affordable tickets to London but all of airlines seems to expensive. Royal Air Maroc cuaght my eye as its just around N70,000 for One way for I and baby to London.
Please Has Anyone Traveled From Lagos to London on Royal Air Maroc?
Whats the service like?
Does the plane have in flight entertainment?
Hows the food?
Is like the plane Aero Contractors use for Lagos to Abj flights?
Your response is much appreciated.
Thanks
Yes I have travelled with Royal Air Maroc, it does a stop over in Casablanca before heading to Heathrow. A travel agency suggested them for me but I doubt if I'd fly them again. There is no in flight entertainment, well, except a screen that you how far you are from your destination. The food is not bad, the plane is slightly bigger than the Arik air plane but it's single aisle. In the end, it gets you to your destination and since it's a one way, you can try them, just make arrangement for your own entertainment. Cheers.

you will be sending all supporting documents Directly to the Home Office in Sheffield. No, you will not need to show them your supporting documents at Teleperformance. Only your passport, application form, Tuberculosis Certificate and Self Assessment form will be collected from you at Teleperformance when you go to register your biometrics.
Also note that a brief interview will be conducted.
Cheers
