according to source http://.net and http://punchng.com In a new video on Friday, Boko Haram’s leader said the 219 kidnapped school girls who remain hostages of the Islamist group had converted to Islam and were married off. The group also denied Nigerian claims that a ceasefire had been agreed. In a new video obtained by AFP, the Islamist group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, denied claims by Nigeria’s government that it had agreed to a ceasefire and apparently ruled out any future talks on the release of the girls. Shekau also said the Islamists were holding a German national, who was kidnapped in Adamawa state in northeast Nigeria in July. Some 276 school girls were kidnapped from the remote northeast town of Chibok in Borno state in April, sending Boko Haram – whose five-year insurgency in northern Nigeria has claimed an estimated 13,000 lives – into the international spotlight. The new video comes after a surprise announcement by the Nigerian military and presidency on October 17 that a deal had been reached with the militants to end hostilities and return the kidnapped children. There was immediate scepticism about both claims. Previous ceasefires have proved fruitless and there is little faith in the influence of the purported envoy to Boko Haram, Danladi Ahmadu Source:- http://.net/boko-haram-denies-ceasefire-deal-fg-says-219-abducted-girls-married/ |

source:-http://.net/2014/10/30/apple-ceo-tim-cook-says-he-is-proud-to-be-gay/ Timothy D. Cook , Apple’s chief executive, said he was “proud to be gay” in an essay published early Thursday, becoming by far the most prominent executive of a public company to come out. “Let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,” Mr. Cook wrote in the essay , published by Bloomberg Business week. Mr. Cook, 53, has never spoken publicly about his sexual orientation in the many years he has worked in the spotlight at Apple. In his essay, Mr. Cook also noted that he had spent much of his life trying to keep his personal matters private, which is why he had not previously spoken in public about his sexual orientation. “Apple is already one of the most closely watched companies in the world,” he wrote, “and I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.” While he has never talked about it publicly, Mr. Cook’s sexuality has been a widely open secret in Silicon Valley. In private forums, he has alluded to facing difficulties growing up as a young man in Alabama, where he was raised for much of his childhood. He has said that human rights and dignity are values that need to be acted upon. With his essay, Mr. Cook becomes the most prominent gay man in the corporate world, joining a very short list of openly gay executives at public companies. He also defies corporate sexual identity norms ; 83 percent of gay, lesbian and bisexual people hide aspects of their identity at work, according to a Deloitte report . Silicon Valley, and technology companies in particular, have taken largely progressive stances on gay rights and advancement in the workplace. Companies like Google, Facebook and Apple participate regularly in San Francisco’s annual gay pride parade. And many of these companies, including Twitter, Intel and Apple, offer more inclusive health benefits packages to gay employees and their partners. |

Source from:- http://.net The use of motorcycles as commercial means of transport in Nigeria, popularly known as ‘Okada’ or ‘Achaba’ may soon be banned throughout the country. The proposal for the ban was made by the National Council on Transport after its annual conference in Enugu State and endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar. A statement from the Federal Ministry of Transport on Saturday evening stated that the ban of commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate provision of safety and secure transportation in Nigeria. It said the recommendation was contained in a statement of the week long meeting which had in attendance all the state commissioners of transport, permanent secretaries, directors and officials in the federal and state ministries of transport across the country. The council advised all states in the federation to henceforth discourage the use of commercial motorcycles as a means of public transportation. “All states and the Federal Capital Territory have therefore been advised to establish a public transport system that ensure strict regulation of the operation of public passenger transportation system through a well-articulated management system for enhanced safety, security, effective and efficient service delivery,” the statement said. It added, “The states are to also develop master plans for the development of intelligent transport system to facilitate the development and management of their transport operations in line with emerging trends and global best practices.” The statement noted that the council also agreed that all commercial vehicles should be properly registered in each state while their enumeration should be carried out periodically to enhance safety and security. This may be starnge but true!! see photo below and download video below. Source:- http://.net The White House was placed in temporary lockdown on Wednesday after a man jumped over the fence before being quickly apprehended by Secret Service agents and dogs. Video of the incident taken by TV news cameras shows a man in white shorts just inside the White House fence on Pennsylvania Avenue. The footage shows the man lifting his shirt as if to show agents that he has no weapons. The man is then seen kicking and then evidently punching at least one Secret Service dog that was released on him before he is surrounded by agents. It comes less than five weeks after another man, Omar Gonzalez, 42, scaled the perimeter fence carrying a knife, crossed the lawn and broke into the White House East Room. That incident – on 19 September – sparked an intense debate over the Security Service’s ability to protect the US president and culminated in the resignation of its director, Julia Pierson. After the latest intrusion the Department of Homeland Security released a statement: “At approximately 7.16pm an individual climbed the north fenceline of the White House. The individual was immediately taken into custody on the north lawn of the White House by Secret Service uniformed division K-9 teams and uniformed division officers. “The subject has been identified as Dominic Adesanya, 23 years old, Bel Air [Maryland]. Charges are pending. Adesanya was unarmed at the time of his arrest.” Two Secret Service security dogs were injured and taken to a veterinarian, the statement said. Philipos Meluku-Bello, a 52- year-old peace activist who witnessed Gonzalez jump over the fence and evade agents last month, and also saw the aftermath of Wednesday’s incident, said agents were much quicker on the scene this time. “The response was immediate,” he said. “It wasn’t like the dropping of the ball four weeks ago.” He added: “He [the intruder] was being wise, staying stiff. I don’t think these guys [the agents] were going to be embarrassed a second time.” Meluku-Bello said he first first looked towards the White House grounds when he heard a man yell and the sound of a whistle. Seconds later, he said, “five, maybe six secret agents swarmed on him … they had bat on s and flashlights out”. Several witnesses said the crowd outside the White House were moved into the park and, shortly afterwards, shepherded eastwards to ward H Street. It is the seventh time someone has scaled the White House fence this year. DOWNLOAD VIDEO HERE
