Morocco has recalled its ambassador from Nigeria, accusing the authorities there of using King Mohammed VI in an election campaign. Its foreign ministry issued a statement denying the king had spoken by phone to Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan, as had been stated by Nigeria.

The North Africa kingdom denounced such "unethical practices", it said.

Nigeria has denied that the king was being used to win over Muslim voters.

PoliticsDo You Believe Boko Haram Will Be Defeated? by newstracking(op): 10:59am On Mar 07, 2015
Nigeria's militant Islamist group Boko Haram is waging the most brutal insurgency in Africa. It has seized vast amounts of territory, threatening Nigeria's territorial integrity and opening a new frontier by targeting neighbouring Cameroon. Officials estimate that some three million people are affected by the humanitarian crisis caused by the five-year insurgency in the north-east.

If Boko Haram succeeds in its territorial ambitions - seizing towns in Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon, as its leader has threatened - the conflict could take on a new international dimension. France has threatened to become more directly involved in the conflict to protect its former colonies.

What's your take on this? Do you believe the governments of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon can defeat Boko Haram? http://www.politicoscope.com/do-you-believe-boko-haram-will-be-defeated/

Setting partisan politics aside, the House of Representatives applauded President Goodluck Jonathan and the Nigerian military for the latter’s recent recapture of several towns and communities that had fallen under the control of the terror group, Boko Haram, in the North-east, particularly Borno State.

“Almost all the local governments taken over by Boko Haram have now been liberated, so the armed forces require some encouragement from us in the parliament,” stated Hon. Muhammad Tahir Monguno of APC, Borno.
