I just hope i get my choice. I really dont want anything else. Its just what i've always wanted to study. I think with the current state of the country we should ve given what we think we'll happy studying, cuz that's where our heart'll be in. I just cant see myself doing my third and fourth choices.
what were your courses

jamb and Waec cant really play a role. because alot of people passed jamb this year.. and alot of people are using awaiting results.. besides, cusas is the exam the school set by its self. so it is very important.

and getting your preferred course depends on how many people applied for the course. . and how many people applied for you second and third choices.

take me for example, I chose architecture as my first choice and building as a second choice.
only 50 people out of 300 people who applied for it entered.. obviously, alot of people got higher jamb and cusas scores than I did.? only 3 people applied for building .. so building was the obvious next choice for me.

my friend who chose architecture picked computer science as his second choice. he got higher than me in jamb but had a 24 in cusas.. he got computer science even though about the same number of people applied for computer science.. Which means he got higher scores than those who applied for comp science but nobody in architecture.. besides, about 100 people were admitted for comp science... so it also depends on the space available in the courses u have chosen..

maybe his weac wasnt good, and they were more people than they can accept

Ok. Seun here told me that my course, microbiology, isn't that competitive. So assuming I got a 40, I might be safe right?

lavatoz:

Wait...so your trying to say is that ppl who get lesser scores than say 40 in the cusas, you might not get your preferred course? What of JAMB and WAEC can't they play a role in keeping you at your preferred course?
they are using all your results not only cusas, and it all comes down to how many people are applying for that course

the 215 cutoff mark was from when there was no mass failure in jamb

and you can't write Gce cos you would have been sent out before the results are out.
they are kind of strict tho, pray our weac is good

lol naa....go to babcock university, their accounting students is close to 250, same in reedemers and others...even In BU I know of a chic with 190 that entered medicine...private schools are in deal to make money that's all, if BU could admit 250 students why not CU....Most 100level who don't get their WAEC in CU, are being sent out of the school after resumption, while in Babcock you stay behind and enroll for GCE....CU sef they have too much wahala... One of my friend last year had 227 for accounting, they changed her course to Demography and statistics..why? I feel CU is just Over doing this admission issh!

my friend to last year they gave him demography when he went for accounting, you should also know when a school over stretch it's capacity it would start to diminish, so i think that's what they are trying to avoid, so they wont be too much students and few resources, and also think they want to set their standard high, during that jamb period saw cut off mark for cu was 215 while others where 200 180 was shocked, babcock is much easier to enter even redeemers, and you should know it's prohibited to leave canaanland unless your parents are fully aware so going out for gce exam may not be to easy

we were not this much last year and i have three friends that didnt even enter at all talkless of getting their second or third choices
i dont think they were expecting us to be this much, you know no one likes private universities, and it's impossible to admitted like 3000 students because the school aint all that big, me i'm praying to God so they can consider me and my friends cry

it means we are much this year and its not everyone that would get their preferred course, some may not even be admitted cry so you have to do good in everything
