I have used my avalon for 2 yrs now. It's a wonder, I must say. Besides a stupid mechanic who bent my caliper bolt while changing brake pads, I have had no issues. Just servicing and changing stabilizer links and bushings which actually came bad with the car. As for poor, fuel economy, I don't know what these guys are talking about. My avalon has better fuel economy than my 4cyl 2007 camry (camry has no check engine light). Whichever u want to get, just avoid the first year models. Avoid avalon 05. Avoid accord 08. Get later models.

With the Avalon, you don't have a 4 cylinder engine option. Avalon's only come in V6's. Obviously more power but less economical on fuel.

The Honda, on the other hand, has the 4 cylinder engine option and is a bit more economical on fuel.

Both cars are ok. Avalons have more cabin and boot space than the Honda Accord being obviously a larger car. Avoid the R20 engined Honda Accord.

The myth regarding the gearbox problems remain implausible as most issues with gearboxes here in Naija are usually related to wrong type of ATF fluid being used and poor technical skills and knowledge by most technicians here.

The choice remains yours. Good luck.

Bot h cars are sweet. I assume u are getting the accord v6 since the Avalon is also v6. I still prefer. I prefer the Avalon for just one reason..... The leather seat on 08 accord v6 is terrible and that's a FACT.

Am actually getting a clean used version of one of the two cars.

So I am also considering its strenght after being used. I saw the leather seaast of 08, didnt like it too
My options are 2005-2007 for Avalon or 2009-2011 for Accord.

I wanted to go for evil spirit, but as usual. Rest of mind with Toyota that nothing will happen. And I don't usually see Evil Spirit in mechanic workshop, so I considered it first beauty, interior and speed.

Only reason am considering a Toyota Fuel, Cheap Parts. no Front Tyre pulling off like what I read about Honda, and Transmission issues

i am confused on which car to get. I love the design and build of Honda Accord, but i am hearing that it has transmission problems and also the tyre stuff.

That a toyota would be the best deal for me. I am confused, although i work and want to look classy. i won't want to bore a hole in my pocket because of a car. anyone using Honda accord and hardly have problems with it? or is the Avalon simply the best buy for me

Just last week I did the following works on my 2010 Honda Accord 3.5L V6 Auto.

1. Brake pad replacement - front and rear;
2. Brake fluid flush and replacement;
3. Radiator coolant flush and replacement;
4. Sway bar bushing replacement - front and rear;
5. Sway bar linkages, a.k.a stabilizer linkages, replacement - front and rear

All fluids were genuine honda fluids and mechanical parts procured from @Luvinhubby.

The brakes are now sharp and very responsive since I replaced the brake fluid. The heater temperature has increased to normal since I replaced the radiator coolant. The car is more stable and the shocks firmer since I replaced the sway bar bushing and stabilizer linkages.

You will be shocked - at least I was - to see how dirty your brake fluid is when you do a total flush. The colour was a little blackish with some debris in it. Some of us drive our cars for years without flushing and replacing the brake, radiator, a.c, and transmission fluids as recommended which is bad. One major cause of brake failure is bad/contaminated brake fluid (one that has lost its characteristics due to long usage or contamination). If you have not replaced your brake fluid in the last 2-3yrs please try and do so. And please make sure air is not introduced into the system. To achieve this, make sure you introduce new fluid as you flush or bleed out the old one simultaneously...keep introducing new one as you flush out the old one and then stop flushing or bleeding as soon as you see new, fresh fluid coming out.

No, I don't like those jeeps.

I will like something like Infiniti, pathfinder. What can I get at a max of 1.3 million budget.
