These are the most challenging issues we painters and interior and exterior decoration/paint manufacturers face. Unfortunately, homeowners often don't disclose the truth. During the construction stage, some crucial steps are omitted, ignoring the fact that there are know shortcuts, in a palm tree. When maintenance costs arise, clients may complain about the expense, not realizing that neglecting proper measures initially will lead to similar issues down the line.

The truth is, if proper Damp Proof Course (DPC) and Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) are not implemented during the foundation stage, rising damp is inevitable. Even if the site isn't located in a swampy area, DPC and DPM are still essential. It's surprising that some builders and engineers convince clients that their land is dry, overlooking the fact that the entire earth is composed of islands surrounded by water bodies, making moisture control crucial.

I live in a swampy area where there's construction work all year round and until now not one of these jobs has had a DPC & DPM and it's always surprising. They prefer to mask the fault using external wall tiles and internal screeding

The inverter is a Modified Sine Wave.
Simply not good
Type: "Modified vs Pure Sine Wave inverter" into google search and read further.
A 40ah battery doesn't give much storage.
Buy this only if you are desperate and cash strapped.

Would you recommend the saroda system or an upgraded version of the second one? Maybe a 100-200ah battery, 150w panel and the pure sine wave inverter? The charge controller looks like it's in order

Generally, these compact solar stations are only useful for phones, fan and maybe a laptop IN THE AFTERNOON.
The battery capacity is usually low.
Battery capacity is critical.

Except it's a standing fan, you need a lot more to power a regular fan: like maybe 50ah - 100ah battery, small inverter like 500 watt, solar panel of around 100 to 200 watt, and a common charge controller.

But with a DC fan you may not need an inverter...

it's actually an old standing fan from qlink. How much do you think all of these would cost right now?

Go and buy solar system, the one way I dey use is sunking. It powers 3bulbs and charge phones. It last for 15hours. I use to on it at 7PM & off it 6:30AM ,I use it in the afternoon to charge phone at times and it last 10hours to 11hours every day. Just continue to give power holding company money for darkness. I use to give them 4k,5k or 6k monthly has charity,that's if dey bring light very well in that month. Them no born them well to cut off my light, else they will be in trouble and we go enter the same trouser. I planning on getting the solar power fan by January by God grace.

That inverter was made for cars.
It is designed to be fed from a battery and not from an 18v panel.
It doesn't even have a receptacle for you to plug in the solar panel.

Hi... I've been doing diy solar since around 2016 for personal use.. I could answer basic questions if necessary...

I'm looking at a small setup to pay small devices like lights, a standing fan and keep phones & power banks up

What would I need for this setup?

For just phone and Usbs... All you need is a 80/100/150 watts (must be 12-24 volts), car charger for phone (for better results, get a quality one like those with 2 or 3 USB ports), and a good phone power bank.

It's better to charge power bank directly using this process—charging phones directly with a panel may damage the phone/it's battery due to fluctuations of the sun.
