Well written bro. You can as well indicate if a dialogue is written in another language in parentheses.

I have no idea what that means
But thank you
Alright. A stanza is a group of lines in poem that are separated physically using spaces between the different stanzas.

We have couplet which consist of two consecutive lines of poem. Tercet has three lines, Quatrain has four lines, quintain has five lines....and many more.

You can check my thread "Rudiment of poetry" to learn more.
Poems For ReviewRe: When I Was Young by noble4d(m): 12:43pm On Jan 23, 2020
scarphase:
I wonder where the years went
The years of Innocence with little worries
The days have gone
Moments have flashed past
I have grown older
I look back at yesterday
Oh how I thought I could shape the "tomorrow" then
I used to think I could achieve anything I put my mind to
Life seemed so easy like it was in cartoons
Dreams were conceived
Plans hatched
Most of which have become wishful thinking as I have come to realise
I remember with nostalgia
The times I was younger
When life wasn't so hard or so I thought
Now here wondering why I grew up
What really is the incentive for growing
Responsibilities, bills and societal expectations
These now take away the joy of "adulting"
Oh if I could turn back the hands of time
I wish I was younger
When my troubles were fewer
And friends truer
Thumbs up poet. Please do not forget the importance of structuring. Your poem should be in stanzas except you wanted to write a villanelle or sort. Either you arranged them in quatrains, octaves, sestet, quintets... And please don't forget your punctuations, It'll help readers to know if there is enjambment or not. Thanks.

I need you
I can't stop thinking about you
My heart wouldn't stop beating for you
I will travel to the moon
Even to Mars
To make right all my wrong
And to justify my love for you
With your name written loud in the sky

I want to be where you are
I want to be at the comfort of your inclination
I want to rest in the abyss of your heart
Where all secret unfolds
Where no lies survive but the truth

To the wonders that comes with the savour of your voice
To your magnificent stature that breaks rock like magma
I surrender my very self to your birth without debt
For my heart lives where your heart beat.
Thumbs up poet. Please don't forget the significance of punctuations.

I broke your heart, t'was not my intention.
I wanted a friend, but you gave affection.
When clarity came, it confused us both.
Our real intent, we'd misunderstood
Our feelings weren't tagged, we mutually assumed.
What we each wanted, we each thought we knew.
We were together, with hearts not in order.
But what we both wanted, we both could not give.
Love brings friendship, though they're not the same.
I wanted companionship, romance was your game.
We'd hurt ourselves unintentionally, but we hurt all the same.
Should've spoken calmly, instead of trading blames.
Mean words were spoken, bad names were called.
That bridge is now broken, can't go back nor forward.
Our relationship got stranded, it wilted and died
Now what's left but sadness, to remember and cry.
Thumbs up poet. Please for next time sake, try arrange your poem in stanzas.

Poems For ReviewRe: Letter To Mama by noble4d(m): 12:18pm On Jan 23, 2020
poetictwenty:
I know the stars will fall at my feet someday.
The rain will oneday give way for sunshine.
Our drenched body's will someday dry up
When the future becomes today.

I can see the clouds gathering,
Hugging each other before it drops like rain-
A rain that will wash away the pains of yesteryears,
Before leaving us with a happy ending.

I won't forget you when I bid farewell to tomorrow.
For You're inscribed in each page of my heart.
You're like a rose planted in the garden of my life.
A rose that grew strong in a soil covered by weed of sorrow.

Countless times, I saw when you stood on you knees,-
While knocking on heavens gate for my sake.
Even when it seem the door was never opening.
But you won't just give up because of me.

Now, The sun has risen, signifying the ends of those horrible nights.
Paint your face with smiles dear Mama,
Move your feet for joy.
For the night has given way for a day so bright.

Ohuche, Joseph ogbonna (2020)
Wow! Kudos poet, I felt each stanza you wrote.

What is a Ballad?

A ballad is a type of poem that is sometimes set to music. Ballads have a long history and are found in many cultures. The ballad actually began as a folk song and continues today in popular music. Many love songs today can be considered ballads.

Literary ballads are often written in the form of poetry, with some consisting of quatrains and others consisting of couplets.

They generally tell a story in a very direct manner, and they do not have to be about love at all.

Ballads often use vivid and expressive imagery in a detached manner to relay the tale.

A prominent characteristic of ballads is that they can often easily be put to music.

Examples:

Whitney Houston is famous for singing the ballad “I Will Always Love You,” which tells the dramatic story of timeless love a person holds for someone.

Similarly, the movie Titanic includes the ballad, “My Heart Will Go On” sung by Celine Dion. This ballad tells the story of the infinite love the speaker has for someone. This ballad tells the story of how this love is everlasting no matter what situation life brings her.

Furthermore, the band Journey is famous for the ballad “Don’t Stop Believing’,” which tells the story of simple people in search of achieving large dreams. It emphasizes the importance of preserving in order to achieve our goals.

More lessons coming soon.
