I didn't even bother with them closing the straits because it's impossible. They don't have the military might to enforce it and even if they did, they have made themselves an international target.

The international community will take over the straits and empower countries like Oman and UAE to enforce.

Iran was firing anti-aircraft rounds and heat seeking missiles. The jets were using flares as counter measures to divert the heat seeking missiles.
