NPS confirms jailbreak, says Charles Okah is safe and secure

Sequel to the Prison Break Saga of Charles Okah escape, The Nigeria Prisons Service has confirmed that there was a jailbreak in the Kuje maximum Prison on Friday night but said it was yet to find out if any inmate escaped.

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Prision Service, Francis Enobore made known via telephone conversation that there was an “incident” at the prison service premises on Friday night but added that it had nothing to do with the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, Charles Okah, who he said is “safe and sound.”

“Yes there was an incident yesterday, but Charles Okah was not involved,” he said.

“It is not true, Charles Okah is still in custody. I have been in touch with our men in the prison facility and there is nothing like that [Okah escaping],” Enobore said.
