If u ain't greedy,there's a large possibility DAT u can't get scammed...unless u r confirmed mumu or u somehow u got hypnotized..meaning...if EOD is sold for say 1.3 to 1.6m...and u see advert saying..."tokunbo EOD for 750..u need to do d maths sharpally that unless the seller didn't pay for custom duties and shipping charges,tokunbo EOD can't fly for 750...U need to relate this to used cars as well...sometimes used cars can go any price depending on the seller...but all in all..u need to study the price of cars in d market and think of how much u would sell if u were in DAT shoe..if i purchased a 2007 Camry for say 2.2million...if I wanna resell after say 2or 3 yrs with no problem at all I can't go less Dan 1.6M...but if I'm not first user its possible I'll sell around 1.4 or 1.2M.....d idea is don't be greedy u might get a lemon...
don't pay half into anybody's bank account number with the promise to deliver...
Look for a close by dealer around u..waka go there yaself..see the car..if u have mechanic at ur disposal..by almeans carry one follow u.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some good dealers are not around, I've heard good stories about elanshiautos and cityhood. But u can't be too sure.

Hello Obinna222, can I ask you a question or two? Are you in Lagos? If yes, where do you service your diesel car if you're still using one or where did you use to service the car in case you longer drive diesel powered car?

I am thinking of bringing in a European modell Peugeot 407 Esplanade to Naija for personal use while I am on a visit later this year. For my short stay, I'd probably wont need to care about servicing, but the car will be put to use by family members thereafter I suppose, so it would be good to know where to bring in the car for maintenance.

I'd appreciate your reply or that of any other person, especially the guy that says he does the repairs by himself. The one that argued with his uncles regarding diesel vs. petrol cars.

With regards to your questions, yes I am in Lagos.

I no longer use the Diesel car, been on PMS engine for a while now.

I used to do the servicing more like myself. I order for my parts from the UK, then I get my local mechanic to come to my house and I direct him on what to do.

I do a lot of research on cars, so for every sign I observe, I dig deep to find out how other people have handled it and the probable solution.
