Now, as the choristers come for rehearsals so other departments come for their various weekly meetings to plan for the service. Each and everyone one of them uses their gift for service. There is a difference between having a talent or passion for some thing in the house of God and using it to contribute in the house of God and to be a pastor. Pastoral office is a calling and it's mostly a full time job. Most of you don't know the dept of what pastors do. You don't know the sacrifices they have been true. You believe that they started living a good life all of a sudden. I am a devoted Christian and sometimes I will tell myself I want to be consistent in my prayer life or studies and when I see how I have struggled with that over the years. But this pastors they could pray for more than 6 hours in a day, some even 12 hours and more. Some for the whole day. When they start going big and global people start criticising them as if they just blossom in a day.
So back to the topic. Every other departments in church, those functioning there are supposed to be working somewhere.
It's up to the pastor to support when he sees the need for it not a compulsory thing that he must do it.
