Countries like Canada, USA and the UK where most Nigerians like to japa do not subsidize fuel for their citizens. Canada has more fuel, more refineries and a significantly lower population yet would not subsidize fuel.

When we borrow from the world bank and IMF to pay fuel subsidy, we inadvertently borrow from these countries. It's like a broke man going to borrow money to pay his children school fees in babcock from his wealthy neighbour whose kids attend unilag.

This stopped making sense to these organizations so they refused to lend to Nigeria anymore, hence the need for Buhari to print money and borrow directly from countries with future oil production. If fuel subsidy returns, it won't be sustainable for long and would need to be removed again.

Tinubu caught everyone by surprise with the removal, this time wealthy people will stock up on fuel and food for the eventual re-removal. People will have reservoirs and warehouses, the poor people who think their lives were better with subsidy can be likened to the beggars who are satisfied with eating the crumbs that fall from the wealthy man's plate.

Why didn't mention Germany Poland France, Russia, UAE etc. You chose to mention the once I am yet to know if they do because you might even be lying. The Canada you even mentioned what is the poverty rate or joblessness rate there. Whoever is advising Obi is smart about it.
