Yes. That is the order. Baptism is an outward declaration of your acceptance and belief in Christ. It does not wash away anything. I am a catholic but since I got introduced to the Holy Spirit, He has opened my eyes to a lot of truth. Check the Book of Acts and see how People got baptized: after they have accepted Jesus Christ. Concerning infant baptism which I believe you may be referring to, it began where the parents wanted to ensure that their babies are received into God's presence incase they died as infants and they baptised their kids based on their faith as their parents.this continued and now has become a tradition. Parents were meant to ensure that these kids are closely guided in the ways of Christ till they mature and out of their volition, declare for Christ but that did not become the case. If you bare a Christian name but your lifestyle does not reflect Christ, you are not His. Water baptism should be done with knowledge. Its an open declaration while the Holy Ghost baptism is for empowerment for you can never carry out your role as A Christian or even have a thriving relationship with the Father without the Holy Spirit. @ Pastormustwacc, I love your topic but have to disagree on the gifts of the word of wisdom and knowledge. There are different kinds of wisdom and faith but in this instance, the 'WORD' of wisdom is the God given ability to foretell future events or what will happen in future. God gives you a small segment or portion of information from His vast storehouse of wisdom about a particular thing that will occur in the future, making one wise in that particular matter, not wise in all things. Eg. Joseph exhibited it, Daniel, John the beloved and even, Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ. The word of knowledge deals with one knowing supernaturally about past and present events. A Christian can while with a person suddenly receive a word from God or enlightenment about what the person as gone through or currently going through as to counsel the person and reveal to such a one how interested the Heavenly Father is interested in him or her. These gifts are for the edification of the body of Christ, the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry. I'll give more clarification if needed. Thank you.
