Foreign AffairsRe: Cameroon Rescues Vice Pm’s Wife Kidnapped By Boko Haram by Okeikpu(m): 9:34am On Jul 29, 2014
olatade: Security operatives in Cameroon have rescued wife of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali who was kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect on Sunday along with a traditional ruler of Kolofata town, reports BBC Hausa Service.
The reports say that 16 people lost their lives in the rescue operations, although Cameroon information minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said government was still investigating the matter to ascertain the actual number of people killed.
The Boko Haram members carry out attacks in northern part of Cameroon from Nigeria where they established their base in the Sambisa Forest.
Last week, a Cameroonian court sentenced 14 members of the sect to 20 years imprisonment after they were arrested with weapons in March around Marwa in northern Cameroon, says the BBC Hausa report.
A local religious leader and mayor, Seini Boukar Lamine, was also kidnapped in a separate attack on his home.
Three people were killed during the daring raid.
Boko Haram fighters clashed with the Cameroonian army in cross-border attacks twice since Friday, killing four soldiers.
Cameroon has deployed more than 1,000 soldiers along its border to help combat the Nigerian armed group.

CareerRe: The Decline Of Lagos Bus Conductors by Okeikpu(m): 11:09am On Jul 27, 2014
Dexema: I have noticed a recent trend in lagos where drivers have time and time again turned their passengers to conductors, all you hear is a grumpy voice over the steering wheel asking for money “line by line“. Another strategy recently employed by drivers is “outsourcing“ conductors at bus stops to fill up the bus for a smaller fee,(who says only multinationals can outsource labour), this brings some questions to mind; Is the present economic situation hitting hard at commercial bus drivers that they would rather not have conductors (especially with the VARIOUS fees they pay to Agberos, lastma, vio etc)thereby turning us all to “passive conductors“,or are we witnessing a slow disappearance of our dramatic lagos conductors?
Pls share your views and experiences

Yorubas r in a better position to share their views on ds conductor stuff..... they r professionals in ds job -,-

iwonbaoko: Your juvenile psychological insights might seem mighty and profound to the folk of Gauteng but to me they are just asinine emissions. I do not need to "show" national pride but I know for a fact that on any measure of competitiveness today 2014 Nigerians can hold their own against anyone and we do not even see you as competition. More importantly we know who we are and are very aware of all our shortcomings as a nation but are not ashamed of who we are, of our culture or of being black unlike most of your folk who strive assiduously to be more Western that the West and whiter than the white. When you see a Nigeria anywhere you know and we do not apologize for that
Black South Africans have issues not only with Nigerians but with ALL BLACK foreigners in SA. Not with the Chinese,Indians or others but with Zimbabweans,Nigerians and all other blacks. Why ? Because they show you up as slow, weak and uncompetitive. They reveal your excuses for what they really are; pathetic alibis
Let me remind you ignorant clods of one fact in 1976 BP was one of the biggest oil companies in Nigeria but Nigeria decided they should not sell our oil to the apartheid government they did so on the sly and Nigeria sent them packing. To this day they have not been allowed to return.
Despite threats and intimidation from Britain we stood our ground because we saw injustice in your country. Not only Nigeria but every other country in black Africa supported you. Kids in Nigerian schools were made to contribute pennies toward the cause At the time America and Britain supported the apartheid regime. Now when Madiba died who were the people chosen to speak at his burialhuh You guys are suffering from Stockholm syndrome as a society and have no self awareness. You think you are rich? In 50 year even Malawi will be ahead of you
Guy u are so on point..... well-done!

fnep2smooth: i don't know why you guys keep killing yourself on this Matter. You can't compare nigeria with south africa.
..
We build our country from nothing to where it is today with No western help..
..
There economy is been control by the white,
the white still dictate how the country will go or been rule. (secretly).
The white occupy almost all the top agency.
The blacks over there are just like normal citizens with no right what so ever.

but Nigeria guy got swag and thats why they are jealous. most of all the south african girls i HAve come in contact with always fall for me, not because am handsome but because they see the spirit of confidence, intelligent, well exposed and sweet talk. Sometime we the nigerians don't even know about it cos thats our way of life. But funny enough our own girls fails to see it . Many of them still wish to date us or even marry us but i guess some bad stories flying around about the nigerian hustle is whats bringing all this hate .
well said..

Kinkybraids: lol ok this is kind of funny. I received no payment grin but Im talking from personal experience. Stereotypes aside... I probably was lucky and met Nigerians worth praising ( Im not saying they were perfect but I saw them as individuals and assessed them based on that).

I also have a family friend who is Nigerian ( well she is more like a lil sister) we grew up with her until her father passed away. He was the first Nigerian man I came to know and he was a good man as far as I know and he was a respected teacher at my school. My main point is before judging people based on stereotypes get to know them and judge them as individuals.... I know its hard but you miss out on great relationships and friendships that way.

lol no offence but Im just curious as to why you are on NL if you dont like Nigerians huh
smart gal wink lemme buy you a drink... wink
RomanceRe: Why Are South African Women Crazy About Naija Guys? by Okeikpu(m):
Kinkybraids: lol @ have big bums grin ... Not all but a certain kind of tribe (Xhosa Men )... it shows how wealthy he is if he fat.

Again these are generalizations I know man Intelligent South African men that uphold good values and dont drink. I think these generalization can be applicable to the rural areas. I do agree with you that we south africans love debt which is not an indication of real wealth. Latsly I dont Think SA would be as successful as it is if our men were lazy and drunks or settled for less sad ...s op itop a generalization but I agree with the big bum thing lol
I av told the guy to remove that Nigeria from there...nd replace it wt the great Igbos... tongue tongue
