The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Friday June 15, 2018, as the day to mark the Eid-el-Fitr, and the end of Ramadan fast.

The Sultan announced the sighting of the new moon of the month Shawwal in a broadcast in Sokoto on Thursday.

The Islamic month of Shawwal comes after the 29 or 30 days of the month of Ramadan when Muslims across the world observe a month-long fasting.

Abubakar said the new moon was sighted in parts of Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Jigawa, Nassarawa, Plateau and Sokoto States among others.

He said, “In accordance with Islamic law, we have the honour and pleasure to announce that today, Thursday, the 29th day of Ramadan, 1439 AH, which is equivalent to June 14, 2018, has marked the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the new month of Shawwal.


“Reliable reports of moon sighting were received from Muslim leaders and religious organisations across the country, which were duly verified and authenticated by us, states and the National Moon Sighting Committee.

“Consequent upon this, tomorrow, Friday, the 15th day of June, 2018 becomes the first day of Shawwal, 1439 AH and is therefore declared the Sallah day for 2018 Eid-el-Fitr.”


The Sultan urged the Muslim Ummah to sustain fervent prayers for the nation led by President Muhammadu Buhari, other leaders, as well as for sustainable peace and unity in Nigeria and beyond.


The Sultan also urged Nigerians to continue to live in peace irrespective of religious, ethnic and cultural differences.

if u can be patient to finish ur HND den aim for SSC or DSS that will be good.

If u want to join via non commission den while in the system u further ur education and get a degree den go for SSC or DSS that will be good as well.

I already told u the ups and downs of the two commissions.

Before now, I gave u a friendly advice.
Now I want to give u a brotherly advice.

if you get ur degree, please go for Airforce or Navy.
Forget about Army.
That's my brotherly advice to you.

u will be given an opportunity to choose a corps the day u are about leaving depot. For trade men. Ur trade will determine where u belong.

RRI means Regular Recruit Intake.
The application is ongoin. Visit Army recruitment portal to apply. Application is free. Any person or personnel demanding money to help you pls flee from such people. Pray God to lead you to the right people that will help you from signing of forms to depot.

a friend of mine was in these ur shoes. This is what he did.
He applied for Army RRI. The truth is, chances of bein enlisted in the Army via merit is High in the RRI than the RC,SSC and DSS. Remeber RRI takes more than 100 candidates per state. While RC, SSC and DSS take less than 15 per state.
So after applying for Army RRI He was enlisted and went to depot for training. After training, he was deployed to Education corps. He serve under his CO Lt.Col Etim. And was so loyal. After some years he told his CO his intention of goin back to school and since he is in Education corps, the need for him to ugrade academically was necessary. His CO approved his request. Right now he his doing his HND 2 at Airforce Institution of Technology in Kaduna. When he graduates, He will apply for DSS. And God helping him, he will make it and will becom a Lt in few years to com.

My bro I will advice u to take ur time, pray and let God leads u.
