Popular Nigerian comedians, Okey Bakassi, and Bishop Umeh, popularly known as Okon Lagos, on Sunday threw shades at Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemates remaining in the reality show. Bakassi in a post on Instagram lamented the eviction of ‘smart and intelligent’ housemates in the reality show. The comedian criticized the choice of Nigerians in voting for housemates, adding that their decisions showed how Nigerians select their leaders. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the African countries, whose citizens were affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa to report to the African Union. President Muhammadu Buhari, Friday, in Abuja said heavy schedule of the inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday held his attention for many hours, keeping him from following the court ruling that validated his victory at the polls. The Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Thursday announced the arrest of five persons over alleged case of internet fraud and other fraud related offences. They were arrested at different locations in ilorin metropolis following intelligence reports gathered by the anti-graft agency. It was discovered that the suspects use their phones and laptop computers to communicate with their victims who are majorly foreigners in order to defraud them of their monies. Investigation by the operatives of the agency revealed that the suspects benefitted several foreign currencies deposited into their accounts by their victims. The Northern Governors’ Forum is holding an emergency meeting in Kaduna to deliberate on issues surrounding insecurity, livestock management, Almajiris and poverty. Chairman of the Forum, who is also the Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong disclosed this while delivering his opening speech. The Chairman said that the emergency meeting was summoned to address matters of urgent importance on the survival of the region, as well as the wellbieng of the people, NAN reports. The National Social Investment Office (NSIO) on Thursday advised Nigerians, particularly beneficiaries of the N-Power Programme, to discountenance the ongoing fake social media messages about the scheme. Mr Justice Bibiye, the Communications Officer, NSIO, in a statement to NAN on Thursday in Abuja, urged the beneficiaries to be circumspect. Hameed Ali, the Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says Nigeria’s borders will remain closed until the country and its neighbours agree on existing ECOWAS protocol on movement.
