The government should leave the oil alone and focus on Agriculture. Get youth seed capital to go to farm. Oil is benefiting only the rich. Agriculture will benefit everybody. Farming should not be politicized! |

agalamanyi:With all these hullabaloo, It's more likely that those arrested are militants. It's a shame on the community leaders for shielding culprits. If the military confirms they are not chevron staff. All thier community leaders should be arrested too. The word "vandalism" ought to be out of our dictionary by now. We destroy everything and blame government for anything |

I think we need more of this In its bid to encourage the teaching and learning of coding tools and skills among the younger generation, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Redemption House, Mowe Ogun State has organized a training on the basics of coding and computer skills for children member of its congregation. Children between the ages of 4 and 15 participated in the two-week intensive training, which held at the church premises. Speaking on the training, the pastor in charge of the parish, Pastor Semowo Idowu said that coding should be seen as a critical skill every kid must acquire, adding that technology opens more doors to every child, regardless of their future discipline. the pastor urged schools to embrace and include the teaching of coding in their curricula, stressing that every student deserves to be empowered with the coding skills they need to thrive in the 21st century workforce. He also advised parents to always encourage their children to be creators and not just consumers of technology around them, noting that this would make them become key actors of Africa’s economic development. The pastor added, “As a church, we owe our local community a duty to contribute positively to the lives of our children, giving more attention to girls in the society.” Adebowale Ademola, the Team lead for the project stated that 90% of parents want schools to teach computer science including computer programming. He noted that just as students can define “photosynthesis”, students should also be able to define “Algorithm”. In his word, “it’s important for every 21st century child to have a chance to “dissect an app,” or learn how the internet works. “We adopted international standard on our training methodology, children have the opportunity to access internet through wifi Technology while the programming class is base on block modeling games”, He said. Ademola disclosed that the training programme would continue by summer this year targeting 100 children with 85% girls in programming and computer science. more news here http://thevendornews.com/church-trains-children-ict/ |
