I don't really know much about it but America do reference a God, whether that "God" is God or God's "Son" or even the holy spirit would be purely academical but yes, they referenced a"God"

As for Nigeria, our Consitution says we are Secular but doesn't mean the Muslims and Christians are evenly distributed.
