This Agreement on equipments is negotiable

i. The Lessor is in the business of equipment leasing

ii The Lessee desires to lease some of the Lessor's heavy equipments and the
Lessor has agreed to lease same to the Lessee for pecuniary considerations
subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter stated.


MOU:
1. The Lessor hereby leases to the Lessee the following heavy equipments as
follows:

(a) Bulldozer D6H, at the sum of N70,000 per day for a period of 6 months (at
18 working days per month).

(b) Escarvator 320 at the sum of N70,000 per day for a period of 6 months (at
18 working days per month)

(c) Pay Loader 966 at the sum of N50,000 per day for a period of 6 months at
18 working days per month
(d) Pay Loader 950 at the sum of N45,000 per day for a period of 6 months (at
18 working days per month) .

(e) Swam Buggy 325 at the sum of N220,000 per day for a period of 6 months (at
18 working days per month)
NOTE:
All these for the period of September to May the following month but days get reduced from May to end of August.

2. The payment can be made weekly/monthly 2 days of delivery to lessee.

3. The Lessor shall be responsible for major maintenance and repair work on the
equipments while it shall be the responsibility of the Lessee to take care of
minor repairs and maintenance of the equipments i.e. fuelling of the equipments e.t.c

4. It shall be the responsibility of the Lessee to ensure that the equipments are
safe and secured.

5. Any dispute or disputes arising from this transaction shall be referred to
Arbitration. The Arbitrator shall be jointly appointed by both parties and the
verdict of the Arbitrator so appointed shall be binding on both parties.

6. If any party is in breach of any of the terms of this Memorandum of Understand-
ing, the party aggrieved by such a breach shall serve one month's notice of the
breach on the offending party asking for immediate remedy of such a breach or
breaches failure which the agrieved party shall be at liberty to terminate this
agreement forthwith.

7. This Contract is subject to renewal at the end of 6 months.

champion grader? may be you send me the pictures so that i can also see what u are talking about but cummins engine has parts and mechanics in Nigeria. the size,blader,liver,tyres etc inshort let me see the picture. cummins engine is one of the best engines in Nigeria.

is been a while here.

price and phisical look is not enough to buy machine but the confirmation that is in good condition. some imported equipment problem/fault can be hectic and very stressful. trust me, u may not be happy for buying a faulty equipment abroad in the name of getting it fixed when it get here(Nigeria). Lets all ur rated percentage be minimum of 60% at all time.

Am in the process of purchasing 320 L excavator , due to the high cost of shipping the seller advised me that they can take the machine apart and load it in a 40ft HQ container before shipping to Lagos.
My question is that, are there reliable mechanics there that can put this machine together once it get's to Lagos and how much will it cost me to do this.

there many reliable once around who can do this but my fear is,can they make sure that every single parts removed will come with the machine completely? Also can they get extra bolt and nuts on the machine incase of replacement or worn-out.  most of big new equipment are been brought into country in parts but with careful packed in boxes those things that are very small or sensitives such as bolt and nuts,holes pump and so on.  Alternatively, may be u contact some others shipping companies or agents for price comparative because this type of machines come in with roro shipping company everyday. or you ask other what they normally do to avoid high charges. 
On how much it will cost,that will depend on how they dismantle the machine from abroad.  At worst #250k

Whom to call when anything happen. There are many parts of the machine that need different professional or right people to attends to it without taking all join mechanics into consideration or miss them up because some will not tell you there area of specialisation. You must be able to identified what has fault and who should be the right person to correct/repaire the fault.

Many thanks.[/quote]If u are considering one among all,then go for 320cl is the best as far as my experience is concerned.  312s are also good but not for some part of the country and their strongness are not to be compared with 315 and above.
Tipper business is good for those who are in the business with all experiences concerning the drivers,mechanics even the manager.  all eyes open business with strong mind.
For a grade A tipper is 25000 per day while some are 20000 depends on  your arrengment with the manager or driver.

Failing to make repairs to that equipment due to a poor equipment maintenance policy is simply not good business. Running through a maintenance checklist can take as little as 15 minutes a day and may easily catch a problem before it becomes several days' lost work due to equipment repairs. Poorly maintained heavy equipment may also pose a safety hazard to your machine/employees even people on the site where u are working.

Set a schedule for equipment maintenance and stick to it. There are certain tasks to perform daily, while other tasks need completing on a longer schedule. Once you decide on a schedule, prepare a maintenance checklist.

Walk around each piece of heavy equipment in operation daily. While you perform a visual inspection, look for worn parts and signs of oil or coolant leakage. Make sure to inflate tires if its payloader to the required pressure. Take time to clean debris away from the machine, it may be tiring after long working hours anyway but very good. Tension chains to make sure there isn't too much slack in them. Lubricate linkages or movable parts that call for daily grease. Make sure safety signage and safety equipment is in place if possible . Check the fluid levels on oils, coolant and hydraulics. Top them up as needed. Failure to keep the proper amounts of fluids in your heavy equipment can shorten its life. Check the air filter and clean it if necessary.

I believe we all agreed on the maintaining equipment but i also believe that most of our maintainance ideas does not in most cases go beyond servicing and call the technician when anything goes wrong.

Maintainance of the equipment(s) goes beyond this, it goes beyond only knowing how to operate or calling the technician. You need experience to know how to detect/suspect change in the performance of the machine in all ramification.

To become a good manager for any heavy weight equipment, you need to have knowledge of how to foreseen fault,how to prevent fault,when to deal with fault,whom to correct the fault and what to do after the correction even how to manage the operator/client.

i will deliberate more on the foreseen,when and whom to correct the fault for now.

china machinery are not that bad. The problem in using chaglin is the choice of place and maintenance,their machines are not rugged compared to other makers. But the truth is that every equipments makers has their market with the rules and regulations to make it work effectively and efficiently.

Let me give you one senerio. In Nigeria, we all believe in caterpiller product because that is what we all used to both the users and mechanics even considering every other factors that can make machine work effectively but Hi-tech came with a surprise by using volvo products for most of their projects. All you need to considered when buying any other product is the availabilities of the relevant factors that will make the product work to its best usage. I was told that Hi-tech sent some of their staff abroad to be trained how to operate and maintain volvo product even brought in expertrate to the country, so if you ask them their best machine they may tell you that volvo product is the best.

I have seen a Chinese machines bought very new and it doesn't work for 6 months while another bought his own for the past 4 years now and is still working. These are thesame product with thesame accessories but manage by different people with different ideas towards maintenance.

Above all, caterpiller has no strong competitors as far as nigeria is concerns.

The market is not bad at all. If you can get 50 to 60 tons bed with good head then you are in lowbed business while you have to consider whether to do interstate,local or both.

when you decide to do only local, you will be expecting btw 600,000 to 800,000 in a month while if you do both you get something btw 800,000 to 1.2m naira in a month.

YES you need to hire a driver and motor boy for the business. For smooth introduction of your lowloader to the market,you need to be connected to a company or individual who know who is who in the equipment business.

The business is not daily money making like tipper but like every other haulage with a different.
