If you are just beginning your career journey, be sure of where you stand, and build on that. By this, I mean, you should outline your skills (the grade you graduated with, hardly matters when it comes to practical work, companies/organizations are more concerned with how well you can apply your knowledge to tasks). After outlining your skills, apply for jobs matching your abilities. For better chances, contact a CV review professional to edit your CV. dmk23:No, the post says "he wasn't going to be compelled to vote for APC". "Compelled" in this case, means "forced to". |

Why are people making this man relevant? |
One time, a young boy said women should never have their own money. |
I remember having a conversation with a 12-year-old boy, and, everything seemed to go well until the conversation took a turn to gender roles. I asked him what he thought his younger sister (a smart and assertive 8-year-old), could become. He promptly replied; girls/women really have nothing to offer except wear make-up and dress their hair. His mindset reeked of toxic masculinity. A person’s worldview is really important because it shapes the way s/he will see his/her environment and those in it, it will also affect the way s/he chooses to relate with it all. While I was genuinely taken aback at the comment coming from someone so young, I also understood that whatever he said was a direct consequence of what he had been conditioned to believe by those around him, primarily, his parents. Now, every child is built in a way that makes their parents/guardians their hero/heroine, sort of, in other words, what the adults do, will always be copied and internalized by the child. This young man had probably gotten used to seeing his mother do very little to advance her abilities/career, for reasons best known to her. Also, it is possible that his father has the same belief that his wife, by extension, other women should be reduced to being symbols of outward beauty only, not inner qualities like intellect, leadership skills etc. A child that has been exposed to this kind of mindset, for such period of time, will have no choice but to believe it. Now, what can you as a parent/guardian do to ensure your kids/wards internalize a better mindset? It is not easy, but you have to display positive mindedness in general, especially as it relates to a class different from yours, like gender, race, social status, religion, ethnicity, workplace position. Try very hard not to dismiss any as inferior. Speak the truth always, even if it does not benefit you Always display patience in all situations, particularly hard ones Trust yourself, when you do, you will always attract others to do the same Be willing to reward good behaviour. Also, you should know when to let your kids know how difficult and hard life can be, so they do not grow up thinking they can have anything they want. I would advise you to make use of the colour blue for the fonts on your CV, that is, if you are the type that needs to use colour on your CV. Blue is an acceptable colour, aside from the regular black and white. However, most recruiters prefer the standard black and white on a CV. Also, note that if you are a creative and the job you are applying for is a creative one, you can showcase your creativity by using colour to design your CV, but, use it sparingly.
