Following our story published yesterday, October 11, on certain skills one needs to learn online to upgrade their knowledge, here are some websites that offer training on some of those skills and even more. When visiting any of these websites, you can view all they offer and choose the courses you want to pursue that are related to your discipline. You can also decide to learn a skill that may not be related to your discipline but can enhance your use of social media or any other side skill that can help you earn more money or increase your sources of income. Way back, it was basic societal standard for women to aspire to be mostly wives and mothers, the ultimate goal for many women at that time was to be the perfect homemaker and not much else. So much has changed and is still changing in these current times, the girl child now aspires to be something more; anything she makes up her mind to be! Anything! That word has literally propelled many a woman to break boundaries and spread her wings to achieve whatever she sets her mind to achieve. The girl child is no more bound by decadent standards that held her ancestors hostage, preventing them from being the best they could be. As the world celebrates the 2018 day of the girl, it is now obvious to all that the girl child, although constantly battling societal standards to be herself, is a special breed all on her own, the mother, the wife, the worker, the innovator, the star, the nurturer, the warrior, the leader and so much more! More people are now open to the idea of women leading and being able to handle many roles as she wants and still excel at all of them, this is the exact reason why we say the future is female. It is very important that every day, we inspire the girl child to be great at whatever she wants to be and to remind her that she does not have to make herself small in order to accommodate another. UN Women has called this year's girl child celebration, "With Her: A Skilled Girl Force". Looking around the world today, there are so many challenges facing the girl child, like female genital mutilation, child marriage, sexual abuse, child trafficking, lack of education, etc. However, the girl child rises above all and still pursues excellence, when she is inspired to do so. The onus then, remains on everyone who has a girl child around them, to support and help to groom the girl child properly, so, she can also inspire several others who may come after her. http://lingoafrica.com/day-of-the-girl-2018-the-future-is-female/
