The issue about 4 or 6 cylinders is that 6 are more expensive when it comes to repairs parts, but in terms of fuel consumption, it depends on the engine capacities.
Some 4 are 2.2 and some 6 are 2.2 so in this case the consumption will be the same, they are both 2.2.
It all depends on the equation Pie/4 x bore x length of stroke x number of cylinders.

So, some 4 cylinders engines might have a wider bore and longer stroke length.

So my people, about fuel consumption, it is not really true that 6 consumes more than 4 in all cases. It depends on engine size in litres.

But, for spare parts six are more expensive, but more durable.

I know a friend in warri using one for since march 2009, the only issue he had was clutch, the mechanic used the wrong fluid dot 3 instead of dot 4, that affected the clutch, but after the change the car has been superb, cars always depend on a whole lot of factors, the handler in particular, how was it used over there, the present life style of the user, etc, My brother the mini jeep is not bad at all.
