So yesterday I got a call from a very good friend of mine whom I introduced into Keke business about 3 years ago. From the way he was sounding on the phone,I knew all wasn't well with him. So out of curiosity,I asked him to know why he was sounding like that and his reply really struck deep into my heart. He had finally sold off his Keke. I mean the same Keke which had left him in countless debts and of which I warned him earlier on to kindly deal away with before things would get out of hand. I even used myself as a case study for him but it seemed everything I was telling him were all falling upon deaf ears . I could remember him asking me--"Obax,if I sell the Keke now, wetin I wan come do"? That question alone,has always been the reason why many people seems to stay in abusive marriages, relationships and works,which have led them to their early graves .
Tho I was once in a similar situation like him,but how I navigated my way out of it wasn't through mysterious ways but I had to confront business- minded people to seek advice from them. I gave him plenty reasons to let go of the Keke on time because I knew what the outcome would turn out to be. I even told him to start up a POS business right in front of his street which I know to be a very busy spot.
Mind you,not that I'm making gest of him because he's the kind of friend whom I sincerely care for. And that was why I brought him in the first place. But after all the loses I encountered,I honestly wouldn't want to see anyone close to me to be a victims of such situations. All of a sudden,this dude started avoiding my calls. So I left him to his fate ,not until yesterday when he called.
Now, here's what I'm trying to say. Sometimes, hustling smart pays more than hustling hard. I've tested the both of them and I can attest to that. Here on Nairaland, I've always shared stories about myself,not because I want public sympathy or financial help from anyone but to let every hustler on here know that there's always dignity in hardwork. I've always been of the opinion that giving up on life as a hustler shouldn't be an option and of course I can't even remember the numerous times many Nairalanders have reached out to me. Some said words of encouragement to me,and others insulted the hell out of me. Yet, giving up has never and will never be an option.
There was a time I worked in different bakeries. The last one happened to belong to my Friend's immediate younger sister and I was made the manager. But despite all the efforts we put into it,they were to no avail. In fact,we got liquidated, bankrupt and fell off from business.
All those years,peace of mind was something I couldn't get. I was only hustling just to feed myself. No clothes and was still living under my father's house.

Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Siminalayi Fubara, has stressed the need for wellness exercises to have a healthy life.
Lady Fubara made the assertion during a fitness session with “Rivers Women Unite for SIM”, at the Ecumenical Centre, Abonnema Wharf Road, Port Harcourt, today.
The wife of the Governor, who described exercise as essential to a good health, said exercising can benefit people and make significant improvement in the living conditions of the people.
She observed that irrespective of the age, exercise is significant, given its numerous benefits, encouraging the women to imbibe the culture of exercising.
She said, “Exercise is an essential way to prioritize our health, and I want to emphasize that it’s for everyone. Even at 70, going to 80, you continue to flourish in health.

After deep reflection and repeated attempts to make things work, I have decided to step away from my marriage for the sake of my peace, safety, and well-being.
For a long time, I have endured constant physical and emotional abuse from my wife. During disagreements, she often resorts to violence, slapping, hitting, and using hurtful words. On several occasions, she has even threatened me with sharp objects such as knives and scissors. Unfortunately, today, she carried out that threat and stabbed me in the neck. I have never raised my hand against her, yet that restraint has often been taken for weakness, giving her the boldness to abuse me repeatedly.
My family, having witnessed much of what I’ve gone through, has now asked her to leave and packed her belongings. She has quarreled with nearly every member of my family and remains in conflict with them.
This decision to end the marriage is not out of anger but self-preservation. I am choosing to prioritize my mental, emotional, and physical health. I have nothing to hide and no intention to tarnish her image; I am only speaking the truth about my experience.
From this point forward, I am focused on healing, rebuilding, and finding peace again.
