Politics › Why Tinubu Avoided Buhari During Project Commissioning by Openlife(op): 2:29pm On May 25, 2023
OpenLife Nigeria reports that reasons have emerged why Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not been seen with President Muhammadu Buhari in occasions where [projects were being commissioned.
Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State governor was declared President-Elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the February 25 general election.
He is billed for searing in on May 29.
However, lots of Nigerians have been wondering why Tinubu has been visibly absent in occasions where Buhari commissions project especially the commissioning of the $18.5 billion refinery reputed as the biggest single train refinery built by billionaire Aliko Dangot, Chairman of the Dangote group in Lagos on May 22.
Disclosing the reason on Thursday through a piece titled “Asiwaju And Strategic Humility,” Tunji Bello, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment said Tinubu is a man of strategic humility comparable to great leaders like Conrad Adreneur, the German post-war Chancellor.
Tunji emphasized that Tinubu, in his modesty, does not want to share glory with Buhari who he said has done so much for Nigeria.
Also, we have seen a plethora of project commissionings by President Buhari which many expected he {Tinubu} would attend beside the incumbent leader. But he chose to avoid them in what clearly is borne out of strategic humility in not wanting to share the glory with the incumbent as the latter deserves his shine and glory.
Earlier in January when the iconic Lagos rail-line (which Asiwaju initiated as governor) was commissioned, he stayed away and allowed President Buhari to lap up the glory. The fickle-minded would have been tempted to contest the platform with Buhari on the justification that "It is my baby". Not Asiwaju.
Perhaps the most remarkable one was the commissioning few days ago of Dangote’s Refinery at Lekki Free Trade Zone, a visionary scheme he initiated as Governor of Lagos State in 2005 in a stroke of Socratic ingenuity. Instead of being present with President Buhari at the commissioning, he sent his vice Shettima so that the present Goverment could carry the glory.
It was remarkable that Aliko Dangote himself referred to Tinubu as the "Asiwaju of Nigeria" on that important date to Nigeria’s economic history. In Yoruba, Asiwaju means the Leader.
Tinubu's deft footworks actually reminded us of Nicollo Machaiavelli’s legendary postulation: “Power is alluring and infectious when you are at the top. But calmness is for the Prince of expectation and manifestiion begins when you are on the throne,” Tunji said.

Christianity Etc › Birthday Celebrations: Prophet Iginla Thanks Wife For Supports, Speaks On May 29 by Openlife(op): 11:19am On May 21, 2023
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the General Overseer of Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla has revealed that his wife is responsible for the transformation in his physical look.

In an exclusive interview session in commemoration of his birthday ceremony on Sunday, Prophet Iginla, who has set tongues wagging with his new look, acknowledged the positive impact and the aesthetic value his wife, Prophetess Stella Iginla has added to his life and ministry.

He explained that Prophetess Stella has been wonderful and it will only be fair that he appreciates her for the tremendous transformation, reception, and comfort he has been enjoying in marriage.

‘’The secret is nothing else but God, he makes everything fine in his own time and of course, God has given me a wonderful wife. She has been so awesome and if you used to know me before 2019, you can see the changes.

If I appreciate what God has done and I don’t appreciate what my wife has done Prophetess Stella, and the tremendous transformation from her touch, reception, and what I have as a married man, I will not be doing justice’’

Surprisingly, Prophet Joshus Iginla will be celebrating his birthday alongside his wife, Prophetess Stella who was born on the same day as him. Speaking on how he feels about this, Iginla described it as destiny considering the fact that his wife isn’t a Nigerian but from South Africa.

‘’I will call it faith, fate and destiny. I call it destiny because we were born on the same day. All the way from South Africa to here in Nigeria, I’m from Ekiti and her birthday is tomorrow, hence this birthday celebration. The celebration means a lot because it’s not just about me, it’s about me, my wife and my family, and of course my son, He was born on May 9’’

Also, Prophet Joshua Iginla when asked about the journey so far in marriage, made it known that God gave him his life partner in Prophetess Stella because it has been nothing short of perfect.
He mentioned that it’s been unique and interesting for him as he is running the race effortlessly.

‘’It’s interesting that God gives you your own life partner and I would say the journey has been so perfect, unique, easy, no burden, and sweet. So many years ago I may not be able to say this but it’s so easy to say I’m running the race effortlessly. There is nothing as unique as working with your dream partner in whatever you do; for me, it’s unique.’’

Obi, Tinubu and Atiku

In the same vein, the popular Nigerian prophet threw more light on his 2023 prophecies about the emergence of Tinubu.

Iginla, whose predictions since 2021 shone like light amidst darkness, like a voice in the valley stated that he was not moved about the opposite prophecies from fathers of faith.

According to him, because of his firm belief on what God told him since 2020, he has to declare the mind of God despite the fact that his personal candidate was Peter Obi.
He also shed more light on his relationship with Tinubu and his view on the ongoing presidential tribunal.

According to Prophet Joshua Iginla when asked if he has seen Tinubu one-on-one: "I have never met him before, I have never seen him before. I tried to distance myself from politicians. When it comes to the issue of what God spoke to me, I stand my ground.

If you have been following my track record from nation to nation like Zambia, Kenya amongst others global prophecies, when God speaks to me, I stick to it. When it comes to the issue of the prophetic and having an understanding of it, I know that's one thing God has blessed me with. My encounters are very unique. One of the things that has kept me in the faith is because of my encounter with Jesus. I have seen him. The Lord Jesus appeared to me and I know when God is speaking. There is no perfect election anywhere. The politicians, what they think about the 2023 elections in Nigeria, that's their own business. They should go to court and whatever the outcomes, they should abide by it. The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable. No man can disrupt the unity of this country due to personal ambition.

Of the truth, I have declared the mind of God. And personally, I believe Tinubu will do well. He has the ability to assemble a team of good technocrats who understand the economy. He is a good team player. That’s my personal opinion now. Also, I have said related to the vision God gave me that there will be persecution , trials and the rest with people trying to thwart his governance but that won't stop him.

Iginla also revealed that if he has a one on one opportunity with the president elect his greatest advice to him would be that he should unite this country. Also, religious tolerance is key. He should show Nigerians that he is not a religious fanatic. He should get  good team players who are professionals and can help him interpret his dreams properly. Aside from that, he should fight corruption doggedly. Lastly, he should focus on the economy and wriggle it out of its present state.

And I like what Obi, Atiku and others are doing by going to court. For Peter Obi, i can say God loves him.He performed very well being his first attempt. There is a future for him. He should put his house in order while he is busy fighting his legal battles. I believe the Obi movement shook everywhere. And another lesson learnt is that Nigeria is not just a christian community. It should not be religious based. If you want to become the president of this nation, you should be the president of the christians, muslims and pagans

Can you see the American election? Till date, former US President, Donald Trump is yet to congratulate President Joe Biden. By this, Trump might not even contribute to Biden's government. I have said it before and I will still say it again, it is only a spiritually blinded man that will say Tinubu will not be sworn-in on the 29th of May 2023."

Politics › Lebanese Fingered In The Plot Against Governor Ganduje In Prposed New Government by Openlife(op): 7:34am On May 21, 2023
Lebanese Fingered In The Plot Against Governor Ganduje In Prposed New Government
OpenLife Nigeria reports that despite the denial of plots to exclude governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State from the scheme of things in the proposed Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government, indications have emerged that Gilbert Chagoury, a Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire, is allegedly said to be partly responsible for Ganduje’s ordeal in the emerging twists and turns in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Governor Ganduje, it was, who stood by Bola Tinubu before and during the APC primaries as well as the February 25 presidential election when opposition parties led the onslaught against his aspiration.
As a reward, Tinubu was said to have “seriously considered him as running mate,” but Chagoury, who owns the multi billion dollar Eko Atlantic City and rumoured “big time,” financial of Tinubu’s public office interest, was said to have objected and his phenomenal influence on Tinubu put paid to that consideration.
Insider who spoke to OpenLife Saturday night said Governor Ganduje’s problem with Chagoury began when the Lebanese owner of Eko Hotel considered replicating similar hospitality venture in Kano as part of his business expansion policies.
The proposal was said not to have been well received by Ganduje and Chagoury felt slighted.
“Since the days of General Sanni Abacha, Chagoury has been exuding much influence in Kano. So, he could not understand why hovernor Ganduje turned down his business interest. Some said Ganduje did not really fancy a close competition with another top Lebanese, late Tahir Fadlallah who owned the popular Tahir Hotel in Kano,” our source disclosed.
However, the reality of the planned cut off of Ganduje manifested last week when Tinubu hosted the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, presidential candidate, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso in France for political alignment deal that would completely knock off Ganduje in the proposed Tinubu’s government.
Chagoury, who has found partnership in the dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, in the plots against Ganduje and who is currently based in France was said to have orchestrated the meeting between Tinubu and Kwakwanso.
“The meeting Paris, organized by Chagoury, was very successful. The deal has been sealed. Kwankwaso is returning to APC to completely dislodge Ganduje. That was Chagoury’s plan and it worked out perfectly well. It was very easy to recruit the former Emir Sanusi, who Ganduje dethroned, into the plot,” the insider further revealed.
Surprisingly, governor Ganduje was among the dignitaries who received Tinubu on Saturday at Abuja airport when he returned from his 10 days Europe “working visit.”
How Ganduje re warms himself into Tinubu’s camp for a juicy position remains to be seen in the days ahead.

Politics › Nigerian Governor Narrates Frustrations by Openlife(op): 10:23am On Apr 07, 2023
OpenLife Nigeria reports that a Nigerian governor, Samuel Ortom has poured out his lamentations governing Benue State, a middle belt State in Nigeria.
Speaking on Arise TV Friday morning, Samuel Ortom who is rounding off his second tenure stated that his inability to deliver dividends of democracy to his people was as a result of frustration unleashed on him by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
For instance, Ortom who spoke on the humongous pension arrears owned pensioners in the state noted that he was not the first to own pension and salary arrears in Benue.
Coming close to declaring that it is a tradition to own pension in Benue State, Samuel Ortom stated that right from the time ofUshongo born Aper Aku who governed the State between 1979 and 1983, salaries have been owned in Benue.
However, Ortom explained that he had put strategic measures in place to ensure that he did not own salary in Benue but was frustrated by APC agents who impressed on the Central Bank governor not to release his N20 billion loan.
“President Buhari had approved the money. Minister of Finance and Debt Management Office, DMO have all approved but some people in APC ensured that the money was never released to me because they felt if I got the money and deliver democracy dividends to the people , they would have nothing to campaign against me,” Ortom stated.
Moving forward, Ortom hinted that he would be retiring to farming having lost his senatorial bid saying that he has much evidence to challenge APC in court but “I don’t want to aggravate the problems in Benue. So, I simply let go,” he said.

Politics › Nigeria’s Dashing Symbol Of Failure Makes Plans by Openlife(op): 4:24pm On Apr 03, 2023
OpenLife Nigeria reports that former Bayelsa Governor, Timipre Sylva, who symbolizes failure in public office, is making plans to return as Bayelsa governor.
He had been governor of the smallest but oil rich Bayelsa State between 2007 and 2012
The young and dashing Minister of State for Petroleum, whose tenure unleashed unimaginable hardship on end users of petroleum products, is seeking a return to Yenagoa Government House as the governor.

Seeking reward for incompetence

Without sentiment and emotions, the most mismanaged, poorly managed and under- managed sector in President Muhammadu Buhari's government in eight years has been the oil sector, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum where Timipre Sylva is a Minister.
On his scorecard of failures are the promise of revamping all the four local refineries which hasn't been met as well as the inconsistencies in the payment of oil subsidy which have not been clarified. In most case, public analysts are of the opinion that “Ghosts,” are the receivers of the subsidy payments.
There is also the poor distribution of refined petroleum products has gone worse in eight years, orchestrating alarming scarcity with its corresponding hardship on end users.
Clearly, the Petroleum Industry Act has changed nothing. At the moment, NNPC is worse in corporate governance than before.
By performance, how can such incompetent leader and Minister be promoted a State Governor as a reward for incompetence?

Corruption allegations Petroleum Minister:

Information obtained by OpenLife from Timipre Sylva’s Wikipedia page indicates that “After the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) in August 2021, Sylva was accused of facilitating the bribery of federal legislators to guarantee the legislation's advancement despite significant public opposition to parts of the text. According to Peoples Gazette reporting, at least $10 million was paid to legislators in payments organized by Sylva and Akwa Ibom North-East Senator Bassey Albert Akpan with between $1.5 million and $2 million going to both Senate President Ahmad Lawan and House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila. Multiple legislators corroborated the story with several legislators expressing anger, not that the Gbajabiamila and Lawan allegedly took bribes but instead that the bribes were not shared equally among the legislators as other legislators claimed to have received $5,000 for representatives and $20,000 for senators. Gbajabiamila, Lawan, Sylva, and Akpan all declined to comment on the story.
Corruption allegations as Bayelsa governor:
In 2012, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) formally instituted criminal charges against former governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva, for laundering close to N5 billion of funds belonging to Bayelsa state.
The charges filed by EFCC prosecuting attorney Festus Keyamo, who is currently the Minister of State, Ministry of Employment….., accused Mr. Sylva of money laundering, conversion and obtaining by false pretense.
At that time, Mr. Sylva had just ended a grueling political battle with then President Goodluck Jonathan regarding his candidacy for the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state.
EFCC operatives hunted for Sylvia who they claimed was on the run.
The charges against Sylva:

Christianity Etc › Adeboye Gives New Instruction To Redeemed Members by Openlife(op): 10:59am On Apr 02, 2023
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye has handed down a new command to all the members of the church.
The RCCG has over 6 million members distributed in over 4,000 parishes in about in 165 countries in the continents of Africa, Europe, Asia, and America. The global mission of the Church is to make heaven by living a life of holiness and to take as many people as possible to heaven.
Speaking in a thanksgiving service titled “Vessels of Honour,” on Sunday, April 2, 2023 , Adeboye stated that to be a “Vessel of honour,” in the hands of God requires endurance, fasting and obedient to God’s rules and regulations.
The 81 years old cleric likened obedient to military officers who are trained to obey order at any given time.
He emphasized that the reasons most Christians are stagnant is because they don’t know how to obey instant command like military officers, adding that total submission to authorithy of God Almighty just the way military officers submit to their superiors, is a key factor to be God’s vessel of honour.
He thereafter commanded that starting from today, every member of Redeemed Church must win a soul for Christ. “ It is a command and not an advice,” he said.
The Sunday thanksgiving service was attended by officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, The Nigeria Police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, a Lagos State-owned agency under the Ministry of Transportation etc.
Praying for the military officers, Adeboye told God “Father, these military and para military officers have been taking care of us. Father, take care of them during the day and night. Support and defend them. Take care of their families. As they take care over us, take care of them,” he prayed.

TV/Movies › Civic Group Challenges NBC Over N5million Fine Imposed On Channels TV by Openlife(op): 6:27pm On Apr 01, 2023
Civic Group Challenges NBC Over N5million Fine Imposed On Channels TV For Interviewing Datti Ahmed
OpenLife Nigeria reports that a civil group, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has slammed the National Broadcasting Commission for slamming N5million fine on Channels TV over a recent interview with the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed.
The non-governmental organisation vowed to sue Buhari government NBC, describing the imposition of the fine on Media station as unacceptable and negate the freedom of expression.
SERAP which stated this in a reaction to the N5 million fine imposed on the television station, wrote on its Twitter handle on Saturday, "We're suing the Buhari administration and NBC over the arbitrary and unlawful fine of N5 million imposed on Channels TV for a recent interview with Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP)."
It would be recalled that on March 27, NBC, in a letter addressed to Channels Chief Executive Officer said the television station violated broadcasting code.
Titled “Broadcast of an Inciting Interview, A Sanction”, the letter was signed by Balarabe Ilelah, the commission’s Director-General.
It read in part: “The NBC monitored the broadcast of a live interview of the running mate of the Labour Party Vice presidential candidate, Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed, by the anchor of Politics Today, Seun Okinbaloye, on Wednesday, March 22.
“Dr Baba-Ahmed said it will be unconstitutional to swear in an elected president on May 29, 2023, because of election irregularities,” Ilelah said in the letter.
He noted that the broadcast was volatile and capable of inciting public disorder and therefore violated some sections of the broadcasting code.
This, according to him, includes the section that said no broadcast shall encourage, or incite, be repugnant to public feelings or contain offensive reference to any person or organisation, alive or dead or generally be disrespectful to human dignity.
“Consequently, on the following infractions, Channels Television is hereby sanctioned and shall pay a penalty of N5,000,000 (five million naira) only in the first instance,” he said.
