To be inwardly rich is much more arduous than to be outwardly rich and famous; it needs much more care, much closer attention. If you have a little talent and know how to exploit it, you become famous; but inward richness does not come about in that way. To be inwardly rich the mind has to understand and put away the things that are not important, like wanting to be famous. Inward richness implies standing alone; but the man who wants to be famous is afraid to stand alone because he depends on people's flattery and good opinion.

Here I am sitting on a white plastic chair in front of a desktop (computer) at the cafe trying to put down what I surfed off the internet yesterday night about the month Ramadan.

Undauntedly I can vividly tell you, avoiding food and drink is the easiest part of Ramadan. Habits such as gambling, lying, smoking, cheating, not performing salat on time, yelling, fighting. Etc are prohibited during and Ramadan.

Stated above are the basic rules (laws) of Ramadan which I guess we already know, yeah! Below are the things you shouldn't try doing in the month Ramadan.

- Zakat show off

During Ramadan Muslim tend to give lots of charity because they're more in an altruistic (unselfish) state which is good, but the 'bad' there is that some people do the zakat show off intentionally just to let people know how huge their contribution is, When giving donating or giving charity our left hand should not know what the right hand gave talk less of the person beside you.

- Avoid being dull through the day: for the fact that you're fasting does not mean u shouldn’t be active during the day

- Spend the last ten (10) days worshipping Allah instead of preparing for Eid.

- Shopping during Ramadan period should be minimized

- Rest when necessary; don't force yourself to stay active when you need a rest

- NEVER fast for 'Show' instead fast to please the creator ALLAH:

- Don't socialize too much after Taraweeh: Try not to go back to your old ways of socializing after taraweeh.

- Don't waste time doing unproductive thing in view of wasting time: most people

- “Apart from the usual things to avoid, fried food, too much sugar, desserts and excessive caffeine, are some Ramadan habits that will negatively affect your body,” said Rashi Chowdhary, a nutritionist.

Skipping suhoor – the pre-dawn meal – and relying on sugar and carbohydrates after breaking the fast should be avoided.

“Waking up for suhoor and eating enough will give you fuel for the first half of the day,” she said.

“This also keeps dehydration, bad breath and digestive issues to the minimum. Eating the right combination of foods here will help you get nutrients in that will last your body for a couple of hours.
“Relying on too many fruits, fruit juices, bread and processed breakfast cereals will lead to a dip in sugar levels really quickly, leading to massive sugar cravings and hunger pangs around mid-afternoon.”

Make sure you take note of the above points and don’t go back to your old ways after Ramadan.
