Aman from northern Nigeria has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to President Bola Tinubu and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, demanding swift action to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing of 16 Northerners in Uromi, Edo State.

In a video seen by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, he threatened that failure to do so would lead to retaliatory attacks against Southerners residing in the North.

In the three-minute, 30-second video obtained by SaharaReporters, the unidentified man expressed his concerns over the killings, stating that Northerners would not remain patient in the face of such attacks.

He implied that any reprisals in the North should be blamed on Southerners.

While condemning those who seek justice for Deborah Samuel, a student who was burned alive in Sokoto State over alleged blasphemy, he defended her killing by claiming she had insulted the Prophet Muhammad.

He questioned why Christians in the South would criticise the incident, arguing that Northerners had never insulted Jesus Christ.

He further stated that in Islam, a Muslim who insults Jesus ceases to be a Muslim, as Prophet Isa (Jesus) is recognised as a messenger of Allah.

The man explained the religious differences between Muslims and Christians, stating that while Christians regard Jesus as God, Muslims recognise him solely as a prophet and messenger of Allah.

He warned that if no action is taken against those responsible for the killings in Edo, any retaliatory violence against Southerners in the North should be blamed on Southern leaders, including Tinubu and Okpebholo.

Addressing President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo directly, he reminded them that there are many Southerners residing in Northern states such as Borno, Kano, Jos, Kaduna, and Adamawa.

He threatened that any consequences arising from the Uromi killings would be attributed to them, irrespective of whether the Southerners affected are from Edo or elsewhere.

According to him, "Good morning, my fellow Nigerians. So I have seen a lot of people complaining that justice for Deborah, justice for Deborah. So if you haven't forgotten the southerners, Deborah was not killed just for no reason. Deborah was killed because she abused the Holy Prophets, our prophets. Our beloved Prophet. Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
"Have you ever seen any Northerners abusing Jesus, no. There is no any Northerners that have abuses Jesus, no, it has never happened. But those stupid Christians among you, the stupid among you, the dumpest among you abused the Holy Prophet and you think that we will keep quiet and see.
"That is the law anybody that abuse our Prophet, he or she will be killed. We have never abuse Jesus and we will never because. Let me tell you something that you don't know, in Islam, that is our religion. If you abuse Jesus, you are no more a Muslim. That is Prophet Isa peace be upon him. As we know him bit Jesus but his name is Prophet Isa."
He said, "Number one, the only difference between we and you people are, we only believe that Jesus is a Prophet is a messenger from Allah, that is God, the Creator of all creators. You consider human being as a God, imagine he's a Prophet and a messenger don't forget that.
"Let me tell you something, if this actions are not taken against this 16 Northerners that are killed in Edo, anything that follows to your people here in the North, you are the people that cause it.
"Mr president, president Bola Tinubu this is message direct to you and his excellency the governor of Edo State, Mr Monday, this is also a message directly to you. You know you have many of your people in the North more especially Borno state, Kano State, Jos, Kaduna and Adamawa.
"There are many Christians there, we wont consider whether you are from Edo, whether if you are from Cotedevoir, definitely if you are a southerners. The thing that will follow are caused by you people, that is you and president Tinubu.
"Mr Monday, actions most be taken within 48-hours, because we will do this thing when it is very harsh because we won't allow our heart to have patience. Let it be the last warning.
"48-hours is enough, time is not against, time is against us. Mr president you only have few minutes not even hours, meaning fetch out those people, because if actions are not taken, you have your people here, then we'll do same to them. Thank you," he said.

SaharaReporters had on Monday reported tha 14 suspects arrested over the brutal killing of hunters from Kano State in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, had been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation, as the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, confirmed.

The northerners were on their way to Kano for Sallah celebrations when they were attacked by a mob, their vehicle ransacked, and murdered last Thursday.

The incident had sparked nationwide outrage, with calls for swift justice.

Governor Okpebholo had assured that the perpetrators would face the full weight of the law, describing the attack as unacceptable.

Very good, every badly trained kids must be dealt with appropriately. Most of the present day kids that were raised on social media, they lack proper parental guidelines. That was one of them insulting and tearing up a lecturer's cloth because she was making a TikTok video in a lecture hallway. Thankfully, she was expelled.
