A Prayer for Our Leaders

Lord God Almighty,
We come before You today with humble hearts, lifting up those who lead us—our religious leaders, political leaders, community leaders, and all who carry the weight of responsibility for others.

Grant them wisdom that surpasses human understanding. May they lead not for personal gain or ambition, but with hearts aligned with Your will—seeking justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with You.

Fill them with compassion, O Lord. Let them see the burdens of the weak, hear the cries of the oppressed, and respond with grace, fairness, and love. Where there is division, make them peacemakers. Where there is corruption, raise up voices of integrity. Where there is fear, let them be instruments of courage and truth.

Strengthen them to rule righteously. Surround them with wise counsel and remove influences that would lead them astray. Help them to serve not as tyrants, but as shepherds—caring for the people entrusted to them.

Lord, especially bless our spiritual leaders. May they preach and live the truth of the Gospel boldly, lead with humility, and shepherd their flocks with tenderness and strength.

We pray also for emerging leaders, the next generation. Prepare their hearts and minds for service, and raise up godly men and women who will carry the light of Christ into every sphere of influence.

And when they fall short—as all humans do—grant them repentance, restoration, and a renewed commitment to righteousness.

In all things, may Your name be glorified through those who lead.
