The actress and her family have lived in the northern state of Kano all their lives, they even have businesses there but because of insecurity in the north, and especially after the multiple bomb blasts last week, which I hear came close to home, the actress has decided to relocate her family. In April 2011, the building habouring Halima and her mother's bakery and restaurant, Godiya Confectioneries, was burned down during the riot that engulfed some parts of the north after the April 2011 elections.
