Politics › Re: FG Defends Passport Price Hike To ₦100,000, ₦200,000 by PAWG(m): 10:43am On Aug 29, 2025 |
sonofthunder: You are getting it wrong. A citizen should not be saving towards an international passport. You save towards, a car, land, home ownership.
Things like passport and other documentation like birth certificate, your license etc should be thoughtless decisions that you don't save towards.
That's just the truth.
There was a thread yesterday that compared the minimum wages of different countries to their passport fee, of all the countries I went through, the percentage was less than 20% of minimum wage but Nigeria was over 140% of the the minimum wage.
Anybody earning 100k or less cannot own a passport unless someone assists them or they have little to no financial obligations in terms of rent, feeding and transportation to work. I agree |

Brendaniel: Listen to yourself, so you are blaming victims of bad governance and terrorism , so what do we have a government for? if the people are the ones to solve this problem, what then do they need a government for ?
Imagine a country having more IDP's and IDP camps than countries fighting full blown external wars with another country, then someone will want to convince me that Nigeria is being governed by a sane person... I’m seriously concerned by those numbers. If this isn’t enough to declare a state of emergency in that state then something isn’t right |

ambale: Asin Nigerians just funny at times ooo
Yet they want the current set of players to die for the country with this sort of mindset
These guys practically took football as war then, with life threatening injuries, constantly keeping fit so the country can be put in the world map and yet ordinary support them after retirement na him be problem What world map? Was playing for Nigeria their full time job? You guys are outrageous. I have little pity for the ones that played in Europe. Imagine someone like Obafemi Martins (God forbid) going broke me you want me to pity him. Wake up abeg How many games did they play for Nigeria compared to their clubs that Nigeria should fund them for life? They played more for clubs than county |

And can we see what Rufai salary was as at then They were paid each time they played for Nigeria. These ex-footballers feel entitled. You can’t blame the government for your wrong financial choices. FG has supported these guys in the past, let them rest |
