Nairaland General › Re: Who Is The Most Famous Nigerian Of All Time? by pdppower: 1:40pm On Feb 20 |
Whether we admit it or not, Obasanjo is the most popular Nigerian to ever live. For somebody to be appointed Co-Chair of the InterAction Council (a prominent international organization of former heads of state and government) tells you a lot about how important he is. pkasso: OBJ was in my Top 10 but the poll wouldn't allow for more than 4 options. I still think he is the most famous of our leaders, both past and present. |

Politics › Re: Nigeria Is Largly Safer: Crimes In Nigeria Is Being Blown Out Of Proportion by pdppower: 7:08am On Jan 09 |
One data boy sighted. Kwantinue Princewill1: Apart from some troubled LGAs in the North, Nigeria at large is more secured and safer than many countries including the US. Kidnappings and Arm robbery in Nigeria is being blown out of proportion. Percentage of crimes in Nigeria is proportional to our population nothing alarming about it when you compare our crime numbers with other inicountries per capita.
Kidnappings in Nigeria happens 90 percent on highways and rural areas. The number of Nigerians who travel often on highways are lesser than the majority who don't travel. Most Nigerians dwell on city areas, year in year out without getting to experience kidnapping they only hear about it on the news. All Nigerian city areas are safer than most countries including Northern Nigeria cities. All those northern states with bandits activities Zamfara, Kastina, Kaduna, Niger,Adamawa etc their city areas and state capitals are largly safe. I recently returned from Kastina city, the state capital. Despite bandits activities in rural parts of the state. You can live in Kastina city for years without getting to experience bandits attack. The American rapper that recently said that Nigeria is safer than US is hundred percent right.
Truth is, Nigerians are one of the loudest people in the world if not the loudest. When crime occurs in Nigeria people blows it out of proportion especially on social media due to their busy body and content creation money. South Africa has the highest rate of Car Hijacking, Arm Robbery, Murder and Rape in the world not just in Africa, but check South African social media space you rarely see them reporting such crime on online. You hardly hear or see a South African saying online that he is going to japa due to insecurity in South Africa or blowing trumpet about it online.
If you want to confirm what I stated about Nigerians being loud mouthed check how new Nigerian immigrants in UK and Canada use their loud mouths online to force those countries to implement new visa policy. Also check how our noisy yahoo boys made the whole world to believe that Nigeria is the scam capital of the world where as in the actual statistics Nigeria is even among top 5.
