Operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Rivers State Police Command, on October 18, 2016, smashed a baby factory at Etche LGA, Rivers State, Nigeria where one Reginald Akagbuto and four pregnant teenage girls were arrested. The four pregnant suspects arrested at the baby factory are: Oluchi Okorie, Chidinma Joseph, Ngozi Ekere, and Miracle Michael.

When interviewed, they confessed to have agreed with the Proprietor of the illegal factory, Akagbuto, to sell the babies for certain price depending on the sexes of the children. While the male child is for N150,000, the female is for N100,000.

They attributed their desire to sell the babies to lack of care and denial from their purported fathers.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the Rivers state Public Relations Officer, DSP Omoni Nnamdi said:

“The Commissioner of Police, CP. Francis M. Odesanya, once again wishes to reiterate his earlier stance to deal with all criminal elements in the state and urges the people to have confidence in his ability to reduce crime. He however, solicits for useful information from the public as crime fighting is not a one-man business.”

President Buhari today received the rescued 21 Chibok girls at the state house in Abuja. In a statement he shared on his Facebook wall, he said the girls have seen the worst the world has to offer. Read the statement below...

"Today I received 21 dear daughters. They have seen the worst that the world has to offer. It is now time for them to experience the best. They will be given adequate and comprehensive medical, nutritional and psychological care and support.

The Federal Government will rehabilitate them, and ensure that their reintegration back to the Society is done as quickly as possible. Aside from rescuing them, we are assuming the responsibility for their personal, educational and professional goals and ambitions in life. Obviously, it is not late for the girls to go back to school and continue the pursuit of their studies. We will be with them every step of the way. While joining their parents to rejoice and praise the Almighty, we shall redouble efforts to ensure that we fulfill our pledge of bringing the remaining girls back home."

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho said he expected more from French midfielder, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their Monday night 0-0 draw against Liverpool.

The manager has criticised midfielder’s lack of impact in the game, saying “I was expecting more penetration where Pogba was playing.”

The Red Devils defended outstandingly but left a lot to be desired in attack.

Mourinho noted that the Frenchman was relatively anonymous in attack and believes it was part of his team’s problem, also noting the golden opportunity Ibrahimovic failed to head on target midway through the second half.

He told Sky Sports, “Had it been 1-0, it would have been finished.

“Where Pogba was playing, I was expecting more penetration.

“Defensively we did really well, we should have had a little bit more. We had a big chance that I thought Zlatan was going to score.

“It was a very difficult game for us and for them. More difficult game for them than us. We started really well and were completely in control.

“The game was completely under control. We controlled very well the emotions of the game. We could influence the crowd. They were waiting for an easy match.”
